JConcepts Silent Rage, Kosmos, Frizzy, and X-Bite 1:10 Buggy Tyres

JConcepts is wrapping up the final full week of June with a big drop of new tyres for 1:10 Buggy releasing the Silent Rage, Kosmos, Frizzy, and X-Bite. The Silent Rage was originally designed for the 2023 IFMAR World Championships at Hobby Action Raceway in Arizona. During the build-up to the world championships, the team felt the open front tire could leave an option to create an advantage for its team drivers and the new tire was specifically designed to have 2 different sidewall heights and depending on conditions, the user could alter the direction for gains. As it happened, the indoor circuit did not mature as rapidly as thought and the new Silent Rage were never removed from hiding. This did not stop the development, JConcepts doubled down and created a rear tire in the same fashion. Throughout 2024-2026 the team has tested this concept at tracks across the country with great results on off-road and dirt oval track competition. The composition of the tyre body makes it ideal for high-bite surfaces. A racer can place the low-profile sidewall toward the inside or outside depending on conditions or stagger for dirt oval or banked conditions.

An option for outdoor racing, the all-new Kosmos for 1:10 offroad was designed for racers to tackle wet, dusty, and rocky conditions, and takes inspiration directly from its successful 1:8 counterpart and packages proven performance into a dedicated 1:10th platform. Developed for natural terrain and demanding track conditions, the Kosmos features a hefty pin tire design built around large, horizontally positioned tread elements engineered to drive through rugged terrain with authority. The substantial pin size and added tread depth generate massive forward bite while delivering the durability racers demand during long mains and abrasive track conditions.

The Frizzy is a 1990’s inspired tyre with new design elements not seen before. The round and tapered pins are similar in height to tyres such as the Double Dees V2 but included a directional aspect. The rows of pins are aligned in a curved pattern like other modern JConcepts Dirt Bites, and X-Bite tire construction. The shout base of the pin blends to the carcass providing a lot of benefits during flex and rotational forces. The size tapers near the top creating unique and fine contact patches against dirt, dust, and fluffy outdoor conditions. The pins are spread to take on individual biting opportunities. The threading effect of the tread inspires even more corner grip and stability, and the twist, flex, and conformity drive itself into tricky surface conditions.

Finally in the drop is the all-new X-Bite. Built specifically for 2.2” rear wheel applications, it draws influence from the successful Dirt Bite 1:8 offroad tyre and tipping a cap to pin tyre trends from the early 2000’s. It features an aggressive radius pin layout loaded with square pins for exceptional forward traction and balanced side-bite on loose and evolving surfaces. At the centre of the tire, an integrated “X” design helps define the tire’s character while assisting stability and feel during acceleration and directional changes. Designed for racers searching for grip before the groove develops, the X-Bite excels on loose, damp, and natural outdoor surfaces that have yet to take on rubber. Whether conditions are fresh, rough, or moisture-packed, the X-Bite provides confidence and consistency lap after lap.
