IFMAR statement on Xtreme Aerodynamics CZ1 Nitro Touring Body

With the 11th running of the 1:10 Nitro Touring Car World Championships coming up this September in Gubbio, Italy, World governing body IFMAR have issued a statement in relation to compliance of the Xtreme Aerodynamics CZ1.   It was found that the EFRA Homologation No. 2064 body produced in 0.75 mm thickness did not comply with the applicable regulations concerning measurement point “M”.   As a result the current current CZ1 body carrying EFRA Homologation No. 2064 will not be eligible for use at the World Championship, regardless of material thickness.  Italian manufacturer Xtreme Aerodynamics has accepted this decision and committed to manufacturing a revised version of the EFRA 2064 body fully complying with Measurement “M” (118 mm). These bodies will carry a specific IFMAR engraving identifying them as approved for use at the 2026 IFMAR World Championship.  The Italian manufacturer has also committed to supplying these revised bodies free of charge to all competitors who intended to participate in the IMAR World Championship using the current EFRA 2064 body.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT REGARDING THE XTREME AERODYNAMICS CZ1 HOMOLOGATION

Alicante, 2nd of July 2026

Following recent developments concerning the EFRA homologation No. 2064 for the XTREME AERODYNAMICS CZ1 body, and with the IMAR 1/10th IC Track World Championship scheduled to take place in Gubbio (Italy) from 6-13 September 2026, IFMAR has remained in continuous contact with all parties involved in order to carefully assess the situation and determine the most appropriate solution in the best interests of the sport and the worldwide RC community.

Following a comprehensive review of all the available information, IFMAR confirmed that the issue concerned measurement point “M”, where the dimensions of the EFRA Homologation No. 2064 body produced in 0.75 mm thickness did not comply with the applicable regulations. From that moment onwards, the IMAR IC Section worked closely with XTREME AERODYNAMICS to develop a solution that would avoid unnecessary confusion for competitors and event organisers, while ensuring that drivers acting in good faith would not be unfairly penalised for circumstances beyond their control.

With all of that, IFMAR have taken the following decision:

The current XTREME AERODYNAMICS CZ1 body carrying EFRA Homologation No. 2064 will not be eligible for use at the 2026 IFMAR 1/10th IC Track World Championship in Gubbio, regardless of material thickness.

XTREME AERODYNAMICS has accepted this decision and committed to manufacturing a revised version of the
EFRA 2064 body fully complying with Measurement “M” (118 mm). These bodies will carry a specific IFMAR engraving identifying them as approved for use at the 2026 IFMAR World Championship.

XTREME AERODYNAMICS has also committed to supplying these revised bodies free of charge to all competitors who intended to participate in the IMAR World Championship using the current EFRA 2064 body.
Detailed information regarding the distribution procedure will be provided in Stage 2 information specifically

This decision has been taken in accordance with Article 1.1 of the IMAR General Rules, which authorises IFMAR to take any action deemed necessary to protect the interests of the sport. It is also fully consistent with Article 1.10.2, which prohibits changes to rules or approvals within four months of a World Championship event.

IFMAR would like to express its sincere appreciation to EFRA for maintaining the integrity of the homologation process, and to XTREME AERODYNAMICS for its constructive cooperation in reaching a solution that protects the interests of the sport, the organising committee, and all competitors entered in the 2026 IFMAR World Championship.

Best Regards,

Javier Garcia / IFMAR interim IC section chairman
