Orlowski wins ISTC Worlds Warm-up Race

Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski has won the official Warm-up Race for the upcoming IFMAR ISTC World Championships in Thailand, the race run as part of the Hudy Series Asia race hosted by Huge RC in Bangkok. Given their association with the race, Xray had a strong presence led by Marc Rheinard and Alexander Hagberg, however there was also factory entries from Schumacher and Infinity, all looking to gather data get to grips with the high traction and uniqueness of this indoor asphalt track ahead of the main event in November. In qualifying, Orlowski topped the first and the last of the four rounds to secured the overall TQ ahead of Xray’s Jin Sawada, fastest in Q2, and reigning World Champion Bruno Coelho whose Infinity topped Q3. From the front Orlowski would go on to win the opening two A-Mains from Sawada to secure the overall victory. Winning A3, the Japanese driver claimed 2nd while Singapore’s Nicolas Lee took his Xray to third after finishing P3 in A1 and A3 from sixth on the grid. Using a 5-step podium for the Hudy Series Asia race presentations, 4th place went to Rheinard with Coelho on the fifth step. In Stock, it was the Xray of Adam Izsay who took the TQ & win ahead of RC Xpress’ Game Mongkolphan with Shin Sawada completing the Top 3 with his Xray.
