Cerberus Racing Vektor F1 – First Look

This weekend’s MonTech New York Grand Prix sees the race debut of Cerberus Racing, the new car brand of well known US onroad racer and RC product designer Josh Cyrul. Announcing his new venture just last month, Cyrul is a regular at the annual 360v2 RC Raceway event and two years ago used the race to showcase his design involvement in the rollout of Excelerate RC cars. This weekend, he is back in New Rochelle running two of his conversion kits for Excelerate cars with full Cerberus Racing complete kits set to hit the market at the end of November. As a first look we have had the opportunity to photograph Cyrul’s Vektor F1. Also racing 1:12 (chassis focus to follow), all four platforms in the Vektor range share around 80% components and the design concept behind the cars means less parts. Another benefit pointed out by Cyrul is that the design makes racing more simple and set-ups more easy to replicate. As previously covered on Red RC, the Vektor features the revolutionary new ARC Damper. This first-of-its-kind spherical roll damper features a floating “vane” that self-aligns for linear, wiggle-free dampening, and significantly reduces free play during directional changes. It also offers increased ease of maintenance with two-screw mounting this enables rapid trackside tuning with pre-built dampers. With complete isolation from bump dampening, for optimal suspension tuning, the F1 includes an aluminium casing for integrated rear wing bracket mounting.
