Hebert wins 1/12th Modified at WCICS Rd5
Round 5 of the Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series took place in Victoria, British Columbia and it was one of the largest races in Canadian history, with almost 250 registrations. Jointly organized by local clubs IROCC and NRC, it was attended by some of the World’s best RC racers, like Kevin Hebert, Brian Bodine, Cody Knudtson, Dave Ehrlich and many more of the fastest racers from across Western Canada and the NW USA, the action was tight across all 8 classes.
Victoria is the Crown Jewel of the series, as well as marking the start of the second half of the championship series. The action was tight, with great driving in every class. It was in Team Novak sponsored 12 Mod, with almost 40 registrations, that one of the world’s best pan car drivers, Canada’s own Team Associated driver Kevin Hebert, led the way with TQ, fast lap, and the win. Pan legend, CRC’s Brian Bodine of the US followed in second, and in a great drive, local racer Craig Roberts drove his brand new CRC to the podium in 3rd place. In an amazing feat that has to be mentioned, Blake Bell, who is the IROCC club President, and who spent much of the weekend running the event rather than working on his Awesomatix TC, came in a close 3rd place in Awesomatix sponsored TC Mod, behind Associated’s Kevin Hebert and Awesomatix’ Kody Knudtson. Round 6 will be held 1900kms away in Regina, Saskatchewan by Fastraxx on February 7th.
