Martin tops 2WD seeding at EOS

Having set the early pace at the Euro Offroad Series in Slovakia Lee Martin would maintain his form in controlled practice to top the time sheets and secure the top seeding for 2WD qualifying which gets underway at the Hudy Arena tomorrow morning.  The Yokomo driver would improve his free practice pace over 3-consecutive laps by almost 6/10th with last season’s event winner Michal Orlowski second fastest just 14/100ths off. Having been second fastest in free practice, Martin Bayer would complete the Top 3 with the time from his first of the two controlled practices which was half a second off his morning pace.

Rivals seek to deny Xray home EOS win

The Euro Offroad Series takes competitors to Slovakia this weekend (20-22 November) with the Hudy Racing Arena playing host to the second round of Season #5, the venue having hosted the championship’s final & deciding round last season. IDEA – Andreas Myrberg Column #3

IDEA – Andreas Myrberg Column #3

Racing RC cars is something we all love. There are many great things about it. Today I want to take up one thing which is essential but many times overlooked. Going to races and experience many different places at the same time. During my time as RC professional and the last years promoting my own brand I have visited a wide range of tracks, locations, countries to go racing. Thanks to RC I have seen the world. Maybe not so much sightseeing done but still seen a lot. Me and my dad started to go to races within Sweden first of course and after some years we went to Norway and Denmark neighbour countries of Sweden. As I got better the more I traveled to get to bigger races, making a name of myself and having fun racing and experiencing things no longer possible only in Sweden. We started to go to further.

Kurzbuch wins but Balestri claims ENS title

Kurzbuch wins but Balestri claims ENS title

Simon Kurzbuch won the fourth & final round of the Euro Nitro Series, but second behind the Shepherd driver in Italy was enough for Capricorn’s Dario Balestri to deny the season’s only double winner from retaining the title he won last year at the Mini Autodromo Jody Scheckter track. Starting second behind Top Qualifier Balestri, Kurzbuch would drive the ‘near perfect race’ coming out on top of a thrilling mid race battle between the two world class 1:8 drivers.  Knowing even if Kurzbuch took the win Balestri would see out the 45-minute final in a controlled fashion finishing 5-seconds behind his Main title rival while the other title contender Robert Pietsch finished a distant 5th after an early incident with last year’s race winner Lamberto Collari.  Starting from 12th on the grid having bumped up from the B-Main Alberto Picco would completed the race podium in Fiorano.

Groskamp & HB claim ENS title

Groskamp & HB claim ENS title

Jilles Groskamp and HB are the new Euro Nitro Series Champions after a thrilling final at the concluding round in Fiorano, Italy.  With four drivers in contention for the title, Groskamp starting behind his rivals after a tough qualifying, the Dutch racer drove a near perfect strategy only being denied his first win of the season on the penultimate lap by Alessio Mazzeo.  Still with his rivals having issues,  the fourth 2nd place finish of the four round ENS gave him the title with team-mate Teemu Leino making it a championship 1-2 for HB.  The title marks the first major success for the Japanese company’s R10.  Having been the dominant force in qualifying unfortunately for Serpent’s Dominic Greiner the chance to complete the perfect weekend would be taken out of his control, a conrod failure while leading the Main & on target for the title ending his race.
