Südhoff takes 3rd qualifier in Poland

Awesomatix team driver Freddy Südhoff has taken the third round of qualifying at the Yokomo Euro Touring in Poznan, Poland. The 22-year-old, who is being tipped to be a strong title contender at this year’s upcoming World Championships, is the first driver to top the time sheets as early event dominator Ronald Volker rolled his Yokomo out of a TQ run before pulling up after a second mistake in Q3.

Volker stamps authority on ETS Rd4 opening day

Determined to put the drama that befell him and his Yokomo team in Gran Canaria last month, defending Euro Touring Series Champion Ronald Volker sent out a clear message to his rivals on the opening day of the fourth round of the series when he stamped his authority on proceedings with a TQ run in the opening round of qualifying. The German took the first of the five scheduled qualifiers by 2.9 second from surprise man of the day Magnus Vässmar, the Xray driver carrying his impressive practice pace through to qualifying.

Volker sets early pace in Poznan

Defending Champion Ronald Volker is the early pace setter at the fourth round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Poznan, Poland, with the German topping the time sheets ahead of Marc Rheinard in the first timed round of practice while championship leader Christopher Krapp hit problems ending up only 21st fastest.  Running as part of the Motorshow Poznan, which is set to attract almost 50,000 visitors when it officially opens its doors to the public tomorrow morning, the host club have made full use of Hall 6 at the international exhibition venue to create a huge indoor track for the final carpet race of the 2011/12 season of ETS.

ETS motors to Poland for second half of season

After a 6-week ‘mid term’ break, the second half of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series gets underway this weekend (13-15 April) with drivers traveling to Poland for the fourth race of six that make up the calendar for season number five of the world renowned electric touring car championship. While Poland has been a regular fixture on the annual ETS schedule, like the opening three races of the 2011/12 season another new venue awaits competitors with the country’s fifth largest city Poznan playing host to drivers from 22 different nations. Adding to the excitement of the Polish round is the race being a part of Motor Show Poznan, a full size car motor show which has previously attracted 46,000 visitors.

Tony Truman wins Midlands Astro Masters

This winter JConcepts driver Tony Truman attended the Midlands Astro Masters 1/8th Series hosted by the Coventry Model Car Club at their Baginton, Coventry UK facility. This is a best 5 out of 6 series. Tony attended 5 of the rounds, which was enough for him to gain enough points to take the overall win in the 1/8th Buggy Class.

Cseko & Timar win Rd1 in Hungary

The opening round of the Hungarian Onroad Championships took place in Pecs on the Easter weekend. The club, which is the biggest and most active onroad club in Hungary, prepared the track nicely for this event but unfortunately it started to rain on Thursday and it seemed it was never going to stop. Finally it finished Sunday morning, just in time for the start of qualification. The conditions were difficult, the track was slippery while the temperature was super cold around 5°C and very windy.
