SMJ Silver Line R-series 1/8th on-road springs

SMJ have introduced their new Silver Line shock spring range for 1/8th on-road cars. The R-series is available in four short front and five long rear variants all of which are colour-coded for easy identification. They have already proven their performance at the recent JMRCA All-Japan nationals when all three SMJ spring-equipped cars made it into the main and as a novelty they feature a clear tube over the colour code dot to prevent the markings from being rubbed away by the tyres.

Team Associated TC7.1 arm shims & hinge pin balls

Coming from Team Associated are two new option parts for the TC7.1 touring car. First up are Factory Team suspension arm shims in 0.2mm thickness. The tuning option allows finer increment adjustments for the roll centre and the set includes four 0.2mm outer shims and eight 0.2mm inner shims that fit the TC7.1. TC7 and TC6.2. Also new are Factory Team steel inner hinge pin balls as a replacement for the machined composite part. The steel part allows the hinge pin to pivot inside, allowing more precise fitment and consistent performance. Sold in sets of eight balls, enough for one complete chassis the parts fit the TC7.1, TC7 and TC6.2.

Jerry Dean Jr. wins RC Pro finals & series

This weekend was the 2017 RC Pro Series finals, the largest event of the year for the series with 191 entries total for the race. Team Associated driver Jerry Dean Jr. was in a close battle with Agama driver Jake French as both battled for the TQ until the last round. Ultimately Jake took the TQ by tie breaker setting up a great triple A-main battle. A1 went to Jake as A2 went to Jerry. The final A started with Jerry getting past Jake on the first lap then making a mistake and falling back to 3rd. Jake took the lead with Jerry following close behind. On lap 7 Jake made a mistake that let Jerry take the lead and from that moment on he never look back to take the win and the overall series championship in E-Buggy.

Xray XB4 2.5mm 7075-T6 aluminium main chassis

Coming from Xray and made for the XB4 4WD buggy is a 2.5mm 7075-T6 aluminium main chassis plate. The part is machined from high-quality alloy and its design and material used improves the torsional stiffness which results in improved car control especially on high bite to very high bite surfaces. The chassis is usable without the upper braces and it lowers the overall centre of gravity while machined pockets make for a low overall weight.

Cody King wins at Toys for Tots race

Revelation Raceway of Ontario, California played host to their Toys for Tots race this past weekend. In the Expert Nitro Buggy class it was Cody King, driving a Serpent, with the TQ and win in the 30-minute A-main event. HB Racing’s Tyler Brown came in 2nd from swift Ronda Drake (Mugen) in 3rd.

Hellquist & van Elling win at SSIS Rd3

The recent third round of the South Swedish Indoor Series was held alongside the Middle Swedish Electric Series and the event was hosted at the Miracl facilities just outside of the small town of Åtvidaberg. The track was put together using older spec ETS Carpet with a darker gray colour, instead of the more recent black one. The traction started out low during Friday’s free practice, but came up soon. In the Touring Modified class Xray’s Markus Hellquist started off quick by winning all practice rounds, qualifiers and finals. Team Associated’s Daniel Carlsson came in 2nd as Andreas Johansson (Serpent) obtained the 3 spot on the podium.

Infinity IF14 PRS passive rear steering system

New from Infinity is the release of the PRS passive rear steering set for their electric touring car. The latest optional release for the IF14, PRS helps to achieve greater corner speed by changing the toe angle of the rear tyre according to the amount of stroke of the rear suspension. The amount of rear toe angle can can be fine tuned by the mounting angle of the linkage rod. In addition, the height of the steering block has two height options so it is possible to change the roll centre to correspond to the track conditions and layout.

Keith Robertson takes win at Rowley Regis Winter Series

The second round of the Rowley Regis Winter Series was held in the West Midlands and it was Team Associated’s Keith Robertson who took the TQ and win in the 2WD Buggy class. Team Associated teammate Jon Howells came in 2nd as Kan Littley rounded out the all-AE podium in 3rd.
