Joel Eaton wins Super Stock Buggy at April Fools Classic

The April Fools Classic hosted by Murf’s Intermountain R/C Raceway for the past 29 years hit a record high 365 entries this year. Super Stock Buggy was a nail biter for Joel Eaton (Xray). Starting from the TQ position lap 1 was perfect for him but entering the infield burm turn on lap 2 his car unexpectedly hit a bump and flipped causing the car to fly end over end onto the straightaway. Luckily for him most of the field also had issues through the 180 degree burm turn and Joel was able to rejoin in 3rd. By lap 3 he was already back in second and had a race long chase to catch leader Charley Cavalier (TLR) with in the closing stages. Pushing Charlie he made a mistake over the huge booter triple that allowed Joel to pass as he crashed. Eaton was able to hit his marks and take home the win from there, taking home the win from Charlie Cavalier 2nd and Tony Newland (Schumacher) 3rd.

Ty Tessmann wins E-Buggy class at Neo17

This past weekend, Neo17 would once again invade Harper Adams Arena in Shropshire, England. Well know as probably the most popular indoor 1/8 off-road race in the World, this year would see one of the most stacked drivers list from the past few years with all the major teams sending out there top drivers to compete for one of the prestigious Neo titles. After all five rounds of qualifying were complete, it was HB Racing’s David Ronnefalk securing the overall TQ honours. The single 10-minute A-main event saw a great battle for the first couple of laps between David Ronnefalk and Xray’s Ty Tessmann. On lap five Tessmann was able to get by Ronnefalk and open up a lead. Tessmann would then control the race for the next couple minutes before coming under pressure from Kyosho’s Elliott Boots. With time running out, Tessmann would run mistake free and be the only driver to make it by for the extra lap to take home yet another Neo 1/8th E-Buggy title.

Bowie Ginting wins Indonesian GT Nationals Rd4

Round four of the Indonesian GT National Championship was recently held at Sunter International Speedway. Serpent’s Bowie Ginting would take the overall TQ in front of Serpent teammate Arya to start from pole position into the 30-minute main final. Rejoining the field dead last Bowie soon recovered, taking the 2nd place behind Arya some six minutes into the race. Some time later the latter had to retire with engine problems which left Bowie in the lead with a huge margin on the field. At the end Bowie Ginting (Serpent/O.S.) was able to wrap up the win some 8 laps ahead of Rahmat Futaki (HongNor/O.S.) with Yuri Taruna (Mugen/O.S.) in third. Vavan Mahatma (Mugen/O.S.) and Bernardy (Kyosho/Reds Racing) would round out the top 5 result.
