Maxim Laverychev crowned Moscow 1/8th Buggy Champ
The Moscow 1/8th Buggy Championship was held at the RCRacer track this past weekend. The open championship attracted racers from all over the country and due to the weather conditions a lot of track maintenance was needed. This meant the race would finish under floodlights with TQ holder Maxim Laverychev (Xray), who started from the 2 spot into the finals, would take the win after getting into the lead at about the 20-minute mark. Dmitry Gribov (Team Associated) came in second, Nikita Pomogaev (Kyosho) completed the top 3 result.

Urban Touring Series Rd9 – Report

Singapore’s Urban Touring Series returned this past weekend with round 9, which was concurrently a national championship points scoring round. In Touring Open only a small grid registered and it was decided that a Reedy Race format would be run over five legs. Both Esmail Apandi and Dominic Quek had two wins and one second place but it was Esmail who would secure the top step of the podium by virtue of a faster winning time in the last leg, which was run in much cooler conditions. Hasron Robana would round out the podium in third.

Salemi & Canton take 2016 Italian 1/8th on-road titles

The Italian 1/8th Nitro On-road Championships were held over the weekend at the Pista Miniautodromo di Leno a Leno track and in the Expert class it was 2005 Worlds finalist, Walter Salemi who walked away with the win in the main final. Claudio Codazzi took the runner-up spot while Marco Vanni completed the top 3 podium result in third. Elsewhere in the F1 class it was Michele Canton who snatched the 2016 title from vice-champion, Cristiano Sartor.

Arrowmax black/golden 1/10th on-road car stand

Arrowmax’s previously released limited edition “ISTC World Championship” car stand is now also available in a standard variant, keeping its signature black and golden colour scheme but coming with Arrowmax logos over the previously used Worlds graphics. Made from anodised aluminium and machined carbon fibre the car stand measures 200 x 108 x 30mm and thanks to its compact dimensions and light weight it is easy to store and transport. Foam strips do away with scratching issues on both the chassis plate table surface and they also keep the car stand from sliding all over the place.

Muchmore Tweak Master Ver.3

Muchmore have introduced the Tweak Master Ver.3 anti-tweak tool. Building on the design of the previous version the new Ver.3 is of a thinner and lighter design with the tweak rod diameter being now at 11.9mm compared to the Ver.2’s 16.4mm. The anti-tweak rod still features three machined holes for the antenna, motor mount post and spur gear and it sports newly designed black and silver colour end caps for a different look. Included comes a glass tweak board and also a handy carrying bag for easy storage and transportation.

VBC Racing have announced the signing of Germany’s Jan Rettke to their team. A Stock class expert, the 2015 1/12th 10.5T German National Champion will use the company’s products from now on and he has the following to say:

Grainer, Toth & Brandstatter win at Slovakian Nats Rd5

Round five of the Slovakian Electric Off-road Nationals was held at the RC-Comorra track in Komarno. It was again a hot and dusty race and in 2WD buggy it was Lucas Grainer who took the TQ after an awesome qualification. In the finals Lucas was able to stay on top to win the race from Michal Nagy and Milos Svihran.

Ty Tessmann doubles at Southern Indoor Nationals

The Southern Nationals Indoor Off-road Race was held at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe, Louisiana this past weekend. The event attracted both internationally experienced racers and local talent and in Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truggy it was reigning World Champion, Ty Tessmann (HB Racing) who locked down the prestigious TQ positions and he would also bring home popular wins in both classes from Tekno RC’s Joe Bornhorst. Mugen’s Cole Ogden would take the final podium spot in Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truggy while elsewhere in the 1/8th E-Buggy class it was Joe Bornhorst who top qualified and won the race.
