Vigor BD7 bulkhead spacers & steering wheel pads

Vigor BD7 bulkhead spacers & steering wheel pads

Vigor have introduced new fine-tune bulkhead spacers for the Yokomo BD7-2016 car as well as high-grip steering wheel pads. Staring with the spacer set, already introduced in 1.0mm and 1.5mm specification the new 0.5mm and 0.8mm set allows for finer steps of bulkhead and motor mount raising. Using the spacers improves chassis flex and roll, meaning greater traction depending on the track conditions. As for the high-grip steering wheel pads, the rings are made of a special soft plastic that is available in eight colours and that is very easy to clean despite the bright colours.

Reds Racing Race Ready by Elliott Boots engines

Italian engine makers Reds Racing have introduced the new Reds Race Ready by Elliott Boots engines. These engines are the first of their kind and they allow racers to be able to utilise engines that have been broken in and race ready tuned by 2-times European Champion Elliott Boots. The break-in and final tuning will be made directly on the car using the best quality fuel to ensure performance and reliability with the engines being delivered ready for clutch and exhaust assembly and installation in the car. The break-in process allows to use the engine under race conditions from the get go with no additional run-in procedure necessary. The service is available on the Reds Racing R5T Team Edition and R7 Evoke engines and buyers can also choose to combine the engines in a combo kit with their own exhaust and/or Quattro clutch system that will be broken in as well.

"Leaked" image teases Kyosho Turbo Scorpion re-release

A first “leaked” teaser image of the expected Kyosho Turbo Scorpion re-release buggy has appeared on the internet. Following the re-release of the 1980’s Tomahawk, Scorpion and Beetle kits, the former top-of-the-foodchain Turbo Scorpion would be a sensible next step in the company’s re-release schedule. The somewhat blurry image shows a buggy with brushless motor and what appear to be modern 2.2″ rims and tyres, showing the release might target the growing interest in vintage racing. We bring you more information on the possible release as soon as they become available.

Martin Wollanka takes Austrian 1/8th Buggy title

Martin Wollanka takes Austrian 1/8th Buggy title

Round three of the Austrian 1/8th Nitro Buggy National Championship was held at the Kirchschlag track. The race started on Saturday with free practice and also the opening qualifiers in which Xray’s Martin Wollanka came out fastest. Martin would continue to dominate on Sunday as he took wins in two more qualifiers but the final two would went to Dominic Bauer (Mugen) and the pair would also make for entertaining semi finals but ultimately Martin would walk away with faster run in his semi. The opening stages of the main final then saw close fights between Martin and Dominic but at around the 15 minute mark Martin suffered a flame out due to running out of fuel after pushing too much. With Dominic up and away Martin now focussed on bringing home a second place which would win him the overall title, and so he had to find a way past second placed Michael Nalulowy (Kyosho) and with both pushing hard it was Michael who made a mistake that allowed Martin by and to take the overall second place but not without another moment he had to overcome due to having one fuel stop more than Michael. Ultimately Dominic brought home the win from a lucky Martin with Michael taking a third place finish.
