Michael wins at East Coast Race Against Cancer

The 14th Annual East Coast Race Against Cancer was held at McCullough’s RC in Sarver, PA, which is in close proximity to the city of Pittsburgh, PA. The race program would have three rocket rounds of qualifying with 10 racers directly qualifying into each main event with two bump-ups to make a 12-car field for the main race. The schedule originally was laid out so that there would be practice on Thursday with one round of qualifying on Friday, with the remaining two qualifiers taking place on Saturday and the Mains on Sunday. Due to the rain that was forecasted for Saturday, two rounds of qualifying would take place on Friday, which was the day that had the best weather out of the four days. In the 2WD Modified Short Course class Andrew Michael set an early top qualifying time in round one of qualifying and then bettered his own TQ time by 8 seconds in round two. Andrew’s TQ would hold throughout the third and final round of qualifying. Due to the rain Saturday night and on Sunday, the track was unable to be fit for racing, so the mains were cancelled and the final finishing positions were determined based upon how each racer qualified. Since Andrew was the Top Qualifier in the 2WD Mod Short Course Truck class, he was awarded the win.

Xray X12'16 1/12th scale pan car kit

Xray have officially introduced the 2016 specification X12 1/12th scale pan car kit. As explained by Alexander Hagberg in our exclusive interview and making-off feature, the car features some subtle changes and refinements to create a car that is faster and easier to maintain and setup. The backbone of the 2016 car is a redesigned 2.5mm carbon fibre chassis with optimised flex characteristics to allow for precise handling while being soft enough to generate the grip needed. Pre-drilled mounting positions for composite battery stops help to securely fasten 1S LiPo batteries both in a longitudinal and transversal position and the high-grade graphite material generates perfect stiffness for both for indoor carpet and outdoor asphalt racing.

2016 Reedy 1/12 Race of Champions – Announcement

The Reedy Race of Champions started out many years ago as Mike Reedy’s vision to showcase the world’s best drivers in a format unlike any other ever used in RC racing. It has since grown to be one of the most anticipated and prestigious RC races in the world. The Touring Car and Off-Road Race of Champions events are revered across the globe, and now Reedy along with the British Radio Car Association have announce that the inaugural Reedy International 1/12 Race of Champions will take place at the Centre:MK in Milton Keynes, UK on January 15th to 17th 2016. Axial AR60 OCP full width axle adapter set

Axial’s new AR60 OCP full width axle adapter set widens the AR60 axles, creating an equal front and rear track width on 1/10th scale Yeti vehicles. This enables the use of any 12mm wheel to be used on the 1/10th scale Yeti without the use of special wheel adapters. The kit comes with extended steel axles, black anodised aluminium axle housing extenders, four cartridge bearings and all necessary hardware and it is compatible with all vehicles using AR60 axles such as the Yeti, Wraith, Wraith Spawn, AX10 Ridgecrest, and AX10 Deadbolt.

Exotek Sport 3 orange anodised alloy option parts

Exotek have a range of aluminium option parts for HPI Racing’s Sport 3 4WD club-level touring car available in the form of a spur gear mount, centre driveshaft and 12mm clamping hex adapters. Starting with the spur gear mount, the CNC-machined part weighs in at only 2.6g versus the 8.4g of the original steel adapter. The mount accepts stock or aftermarket gears with 2 or 4-bolt pattern such as the ones from HPI, Kimbrough and Xenon. Coming orange anodised for wear and looks the adapter is a direct fit on the Sport 3.

Jesper Rasmussen takes double Danish Buggy title

Young Jesper Rasmussen has emerged from a gruelling seven-race series to be double-crowned the 2WD and 4WD 2015 Danish Champion. Jesper secured the overall win in 2WD with maximum points in the 2WD class, with five TQs and five wins and he took the 4WD title with four TQs and five wins. Team mate Jonas Kaerup was runner-up in 2WD with a second-place overall.

Keven Hebert wins 13.5T Touring class at ROAR Nats

Tamiya Raceway in Aliso Viejo, CA is considered the finest on-road racing facilities in the U.S. and was host to the recent 2015 ROAR On-Road Nationals. The top U.S drivers were on hand to battle it out on the newly surfaced track in unusually hot, humid, and rainy conditions. In the 13.5 class Keven Hebert and Rick Hohwart split the qualifying at two rounds apiece with the tie-breaker going in Keven’s favor. The pair then also fought it out nose to tail in the first two legs of the A-main, with Keven coming out on top both times to take the class victory. Rick had to settle for second position, with Kyle Bergstrom rounding out the top three.
