JConcepts Summer INS – Q1 update

Continuing from his ultra hot start, AE/JConcepts’ Spencer Rivkin is back at it again with another stellar performance in round 1 of qualifying. Having set the fastest time with his new Team Associated SC5M, Rivkin was in full control as he finished his run with a comfortable margin over his competitors with a 20 lap 5:11.2. Not making any changes to his brand new SC5M for round 2, Rivkin commented that his truck is “super easy to drive” and that “landing the thing is just cheating”. Finishing with the 2nd fastest time was JConcepts’ Jason Moberly with 19 lap 5:06.1 and Kyle Layton in 3rd with a 19 5:08.3.

JConcepts Summer INS – Spencer Rivkin's SC5M

The young Arizona star is running the soon to be released RC10 SC5M Team Kit from Team Associated at the JConcepts Indoor Summer Nationals.  Receiving the parts just a week ago, Rivkin has limited time on the vehicle, but commented on how smooth the truck handles and specifically remarked on the consistent jumping. Choosing to outfit the truck with the Team Associated 3 gear transmission, hard suspension arms, Factory Team aluminum rear hubs and suspension mounts for the high bite surface of Outback Raceway, the vehicle is out-of-the box other than that. Already a hit it the pits, racers are flocking to check out the latest kit from Team Associated.  According to Team Manager, Brent Thielke the SC5M should be hitting store shelve in the next few weeks.

Round 3 of the Belgian SCT Cup was hosted by the TT Sprimont club on their recently modified track and under a new club management. In qualifying Nicolas Evens (TLR) took TQs in the opening two qualifiers ahead of Laurent Halluin (Team Associated). As Nicolas skipped the third and final qualifier Julien Andre (Team Associated) was able to grab the final TQ and with it the 2 spot on the grid.
