Grainger & Finlay win BRCA TC national titles

Grainger & Finlay win BRCA TC national titles

The final race of the 2013 BRCA Touring Car Championship took place at the Mendip circuit. Schumacher’s Chris Grainger has battled all year with Elliott Harper for top honours; Elliott took the first two races at Cotswolds and Stafford but a win for Chris at West London and strong runner up performances keeping up the pressure on Elliott meant that going into the final round at Mendip this last weekend it was all to play for. Chris secured the TQ honours over the five rounds of qualifying ahead of Elliott, with James Hart 3rd and Colin Price 4th.

Sági Tamás wins at Hungarian on-road champs Rd8

Sági Tamás wins at Hungarian on-road champs Rd8

The 8th and final round of the Hungarian On-Road Championships was held at the Hungaroring. The organising club did a perfect job and even sugar-watered the track to make for perfect grip conditions and virtually no dust to right from the start. The track was run in clockwise direction this time meaning right-handed mechanics had to practice refuelling a bit. As for the results, in the 1/10th 200mm Stock class Sági Tamás took home the win in order to grab the runner-up spot in the 2013 national championship. Varsányi Péter, who already won this year’s championship by taking the penultimate round some weeks ago, came in fifth place. Sági Tamás then went on to win the 1/8 class, securing him the runner-up spot and vice championship in the 8th class also.

Hot Bodies D413 1/10 4WD buggy kit

Hot Bodies D413 1/10 4WD buggy kit

Hot Bodies introduce the long-awaited successor to the D4 buggy, the D413. The HB D413 first turned a wheel at the 2013 ROAR Nationals in the hands of Ty Tessmann and also makes an appearance at this week’s IFMAR World Championship in Chico, California to chase the 2013 title. Designed by star RC designer Torrance Deguzman, the D413 was made to create the toughest of platforms in the 4WD class while being highly convertible at the same time, allowing the racer to choose between the standard saddle-pack-in-the-rear and a shorty-on-the-right battery layout in order to optimise weight distribution. Another ground breaking feature is the 3-diff layout, previously only known from 1/8th buggies, that allows drivers to fine-tune the handling of the car using various diff greases, altering the steering, traction and corner handling of the D413.

Schumacher Mi5 stiff chassis & Ti balls

Schumacher Mi5 stiff chassis & Ti balls

Schumacher have new optional parts for the Mi5 touring car available in the form of a 2mm stiff weave chassis and Core RC titanium pivot balls. Starting with the chassis, the part is stiffer than the stock kit chassis and ideal when racing in high grip conditions. It also scrubs around 10g of weight while lowering the car’s centre of gravity at the same time. The second new part is a 22 piece titanium ball set, again for the Mi5. The parts significantly reduce the weight of the car and are super tough allowing to use them over a long time without having to fear wear and tear.
