Lamberto Collari resigns with Capricorn

Capricorn announce that Lamberto renews its contract with the Italian company through 2013. The multi-times World Champion will continue to race the LAB C801 1/8th nitro on-road car. This is what Lamberto has to say about the deal:

Me and the whole team are pleased to introduce the 2013 competition with LABC801. The 2012 season has been of fundamental importance to know the set-up and behavior of the machine and with the technical support of Capricorn make a special edition for the forthcoming edition Collars and major events like the World Cup 2013 in Japan. Last season ended great, with a second place at the European Championship and winning the Italian championship. My feeling with the model is great and the designers are constantly engaged in the development of the model to take the attack of the next world title. In addition to intensify our workouts, in the year 2013 I will participate with the 1/10 LAB C02 to some manifestations of the International GP in Italy.

DJ Apolaro wins Sedan at 2013 Winternats

DJ Apolaro wins 1/8th at 2013 Winternats

Beside the 1/8th scale classes the recent Winternats in Florida also saw the running of the 1/10th 200mm sedan class. The qualifying saw Ralph Burch take TQ from DJ Apolaro and Mike Swauger. At the beginning of the A main Ralph was able to pull away with DJ Apolaro in tow. The latter was running on relatively hard tires, meaning a slower pace for the Capricorn driver but DJ’s plan was to push in the final minutes of the race. Some minutes into the final Ralph made a small mistake and this allowed DJ to pass. He could then hold the lead while Ralph started to really push his car. It looked like it was going to come down to either Ralph or DJ and with Ralph eventually making another mistake DJ was able to drive an error free race for the entire 45 minutes with Xray’s Ralph Burch would end up having a problem towards the end of the race and this allowed DJ to back off and just cruise to the end and take the win in the Sedan class.

I am very excited to continue with Xray also for the 2013 season and I would like to thank them for giving me this opportunity. Xray’s knowledge is huge and this is very important for a driver as it is also the team work and development – Xray incorporates all of these factors.
