Jessica Palsson wins at MSC Rd2

Round 2 of the Middle Swedish Cup was held in Mjölby this past weekend with some of the country’s fastest drivers in attendance. Serpent’s Pontus Larsson took the TQ courtesy of winning two qualifying rounds and he also won his semifinal, however it was Kyosho’s Jessica Palsson with the pole position for the 30-minute A-main event. In the opening stages of the race both Jessica and Pontus were pretty equal in terms of pace but once Pontus got into a tangle with another car, Jessica was able to open a 10-seconds gap and that would increase to 30 seconds at the end of the main, allowing her to bring home a solid win from Pontus Larsson 2nd as Andreas Edvinsson rounded out the top 3 podium result.

Hobbywing XeRun Axe brushless power system

Hobbywing have introduced their new XeRun series Axe brushless power system for crawlers and trail trucks. Featuring the new FOC Field-oriented Control technology, that is understood to match the motor RPM with the throttle position, the system allows for greatly improved car control especially on downhill sections while making the system more silent, higher performing and more reliable. The motor, with a newly developed staggered pole design, ensures consistent deceleration, smoother power supply, smoother brake control and an overall greatly improved throttle feeling. The whole system is IP-67 waterproof for go-everywhere capabilities right out of the package and the controller is programmable using Hobbywing’s iOS or Android apps and using the speedo’s build-in Bluetooth module.

BRCA Electric Touring Nationals Rd2 – Report

Stafford in the heart of the UK was the venue for round two of the BRCA Touring Car series. Heading the Modified challenge was an on-form Olly Jefferies who had enjoyed a dominating win at round one while his domestic challengers in the form of Elliott Harper and Chris Grainger struggled and both these drivers needed a good round two result to get their 2018 challenge back on track. Zak Finlay was also looking to make it two out of two after a win at Cotswolds and he led away the drivers in the 13.5 Boosted Stock class. Blinky 13.5 looked pretty open and now on a track that wasn’t so reliant on power this class looked like it was going to be a close affair with Colin Jackson, Billy Fletcher and pole man from Cotswolds Markus Askell all in the mix.
