This past weekend the annual Desert Classic was held at Hobby Action RC Raceway in Arizona. The track has a very unique type of dirt that provides extremely high traction, that even increased during the weekend, and then the surface breaks up a little bit which can make it edgy and very challenging. In the premier 2WD Modified Buggy class it was Team Associated’s Spencer Rivkin with the win from AE teammate, Dustin Evans in 2nd. Xray’s Ty Tessmann, who started from 6th on the grid, made some good progress thanks to various setup adaptions and he would ultimately bring home the final podium spot.

Schelle B6.1 alloy rear hubs & low front wing mount

Schelle Racing Innovations have introduced new option parts for the Team Associated B6.1 buggy in the form of alloy rear hubs and a low front wing mount. Starting with the rear hubs, the proven 2-piece design allows fine-adjustment and increases durability as the upper cap design can space away from the main hub with ballstud shims, allowing racers fine in-between adjustments for the rear upper link location. The upper caps are shared with the B6 and B64s design, with the same parts used both left and right. The upper cap design with a shorter washer stack reduces leverage on the outer ballstud, as well as increasing shock clearance for the turnbuckle. The hubs are available for the 67mm driveshaft setup in the B6.1 and B6.1D kits, they come in black or blue finish and they are also available as the B6.1 Carpet Hub Set, a black version which comes with -2mm upper caps and ballstuds specifically for carpet racing.

Infinity IF11 1/10th formula car – First images

During this week’s Thailand International Touring Car Championship held at the Infinity RC Addict track in Bangkok, Creation Model have revealed their forthcoming Infinity IF11 1/10th formula kit. The pan car, that is being raced at the TITC by the team’s Formula development driver Jitse Miedema, is unique in many ways as it features a front monocoque composite chassis to which a short carbon fibre main chassis plate as well as the front suspension and front wing attaches. The result is a realistic looking formula car whose chassis is stiffer that a plain carbon fibre assembly – without the need to use delicate aluminium parts – while still offering good accessibility for the steering servo, receiver and speed controller and along with the rear transversal battery mount with O-ring retainer it also allows for easy battery swaps. The front suspension, that is made up from carbon fibre sheet material, is adjustable using inserts while the rear end utilises class-standard axle height adjustment using shims. The steering assembly is designed in a way to allow the common single bellcrank setup but it can also utilise a dual bellcrank setup if track conditions are calling for it. The car is still in prototype stages but according to Creation Model it is ready for a release before Summer.
