Acorn Racing Cup – Announcement

The Inaugural Acorn Racing Cup for EP On-Road will be held on the weekend of the 24th of October in Glenmarie, KL, Malaysia host of the 2009 off road FEMCA race. This is the first race that is being held by Acorn Innovations since the company started and it is going to be open to 2 classes, F1 and Stock on-road touring. The race will have 3 x 6 minute qualifiers, followed by a 3 x 6 minute finals. There is no restriction on the brand of batteries or cars for this race but handout matched batteries from Acorn Racing will be issued for the second finals of the A-mains in both classes. Drivers from all over the world are welcome and along with a lot of attractive prizes to be won, the winner of the A-main gets a 1 year sponsorship deal directly from Acorn Racing.

Acorn Racing sign KS Chu

Acorn Racing has announced the signing of FEMCA Modified class champion, Mr. KS Chu for the 2010 race season. KS Chu will be running Acorn Racing LiPos and parts in his cars as well as to promote the Acorn Racing product line.

I would like to thank Acorn Racing for the opportunity to run their products during the 2010 Season. I have tried numerous products/LiPos from other brands but with Acorn Racing LiPos, I could feel the difference. The Power is smooth and consistent throughout the race. Acorn Racing 4900mAh 34C Race LiPo

Acorn Racing have released their new 4900mAh 34C 2S1P 7.4V Carbon Edition Race LiPo. This new generation LiPo is equipped with 34C constant discharge and 48C burst capabilities and is ROAR approved. These cells are specifically developed using state of art LiPo technology for maximum power delivery and low internal resistance. Housed in a translucent black durable hardcase in order to keep the cells from being damaged during use, the sub-C bulges were eliminated from the design so it can go into models with or without slots in the chassis. Power is connected through 4mm banana connectors, while the balancer uses a 2mm version.

Acorn Racing 5500mAh 36C Carbon LiPo pack

Acorn Racing have released this 5500mAh 36C 7.4V Carbon Edition LiPo pack. All Acorn race type LiPos are housed in a crash proof plastic case and these 5500mAh cells are made in 2S1P configurations which allows proper balancing and charging. The photo shows one of the first batch of prototypes that were made and sent to their distributors, with the final version will be released in 2 to 3 weeks time following ROAR approval.

Acorn Racing seeking team drivers

Acorn Racing is currently looking for both club and International drivers to strengthen their team in USA after confirming Speedworld RC, Mr. Billy Bowerman as their official USA distributor for the year 2010. Given Billy’s experience and devotion in the RC community for over 25 years with a list of accomplishments to promoting Nitro and Electric races, we are sure that this new relationship will be a successful one. If you think you will like to represent Acorn Racing Team USA in EP/GP classes for on-road and off-road racing and contemplating to join and represent the team in the USA be sure to contact ‘enquiries@acorninnovations.asia’ or ‘billy.bowerman@acorninnovations.asia’ along with a detailed R/C racing resume. This will be a 100% contracted sponsorship for National Racers and a partial sponsorship for club drivers. Acorn Racing 4900mAh 34C Race LiPo

Acorn Racing have introduced their new 4900mAh 34C 2S1P 7.4V Carbon Edition Race LiPo. Acorn Racing 3800mAh 36C Hardcase LiPo

Acorn Racing continue to add to their range of LiPo packs with the release of this new 3800mAh 2S1P Race pack with a consistent 36C burst. Understanding that you don’t need huge capacity for the Stock class, but do need the cells to give a very good punch, this race version LiPo is specially formulated with Stock Racing in mind. The cells are mounted in a durable hardcase that meets ROAR’s specifications and have the same dimension as a standard 6-cell Sub-C battery pack configuration.

Acorn Racing 4200mAh Carbon Edition Race LiPo

Following the release of their 4200mAh 30C 2S1P 7.4V hard case race LiPo, Acorn Racing have introduced another edition of this competitive high discharge race LiPo. Fitted in a Carbon look hard casing, like its older brother this version of batteries offers extremely high voltage, long run time and consistent performance with true 30C discharge. This LiPo is further improved with a gold plated 4mm banana type connector to reduce unnecessary resistance and weighs a mere 228 grams.
