Following first issues with their HV120 line of flight controllers, Castle Creations now issued another, extended, service advisory that applies to other HV controllers, such as the Mamba XL, too. According to Castle Creations a component used in the controllers features different specifications and these tolerances may lead to failure of the affected controllers.

Castle Creations have teamed with Hobbico to bring the Mamba Max Pro SCT ESC and Neu-Castle 1415-2400kv motor combo to customers who want to take the next step in speed and reliability beyond their stock brushless setup. These new 550 type motors are almost 100% more powerful than most stock brushless setups and are four pole, with higher quality components designed for improved torque and it just bolts right in with the ESC wires ready to connect to the motor. The Mamba Max Pro SCT is built for speed, but it’s also a torque monster, able to dig out of tall grass, sand, most any conditions you can throw at it.

It’s time for 1/5th scale buggies, trucks and on road cars to experience the incredible torque and speed of Castle electric drive. The new Mamba XL is the only controller on the market able to handle the loads required to power these surprisingly heavy vehicles to insane speeds. New from Castle Creations is this 1/10 Sidewinder SCT System. Featuring a ROAR SCT legal 3600kV Castle 1410 Y brushless motor with four magnets on the rotor giving a 20% increase in torque over most other motors in this class with only two magnets, perfect for 2WD & 4WD 1/10 scale short course trucks. The Sidewinder SCT electronic speed control features proportional brake, reverse with lockout and programmable low voltage cutoff with with Auto LiPo Detect set as default. Motor and ESC are wired together-no connectors needed.
Castle Creations have introduced a special, very limited, run of their Mamba Max Pro that are specially modified to run in the one cell classes. Only made to order, these are special controllers that will have their BEC circuit removed so you will need an outboard 4.8 – 6.0 volt power source to run your electronics. They are still good to 6S max and you get to use all of the advanced Smart Sense and Cheat mode settings. The cutoff for orders must be December 11, 2009 so if you want one you will need to act fast.

Shown on the stand of Castle Creations at this weekends RCX show in Califronia, is the company’s latest product, a brushless system for 1/8th scale buggies. The prototype at the show is shown fitted to a Kyosho Inferno and not only includes the electrics, such as the speedo and the motor, but also comes with the 2 chassis side plates that incorporate mounts for the systems twin battery packs.
