CML Distribution have introduced two new Centro and a single Voltz 4S 14.8V hardcase LiPo battery pack for 1/8th scale applications. The Centro packs target competitive racing and are available as 7600mAh 100C and 6800mAh 75C variant, while the Voltz pack is built using 5000mAh 50C cells, making it ideal for demanding bash applications and RTR vehicles. All utilise protective hardcases for security and they come pre-soldered with EC5 connectors and balancer ports.
Coming from Centro is their new 3.7V 8000mAh LiPo battery pack for all 1S on-road applications. The competition-grade battery is meant to offer very high voltage levels, resulting in more power and less fade on track – fast lap times all the way down to the final lap are the result. The battery features 5mm connectors to ensure maximum current carrying capability, while wraparound battery labels provide cool looks and reduced risk of damage from battery tape. The pack has received BRCA approval so will be legal for national level use from September 1st 2018 winter racing season.
Coming soon and made for the Schumacher Cougar and Cat 1/10th electric off-road buggies are several aluminium option parts from Exotek. First up is the black anodised twist nut LiPo post set with easy adjust twist nuts for the Cougar and Cat series. The lightweight and secure factory style mounts allow to adjust the battery strap height to match the LiPo height perfectly. The set includes two 23mm alloy posts, two alloy twist nuts and two steel threaded rods. The set can also be used with other applications requiring twist nut and LiPo post mounting.
Pro-Line introduce the Bulldog design bodyshell for mid motor racing trucks such as the Kyosho RT6 and the Centro CT4.2 as well as 1/8th Electron buggy tyres. Starting with the body, the mid motor Bulldog is based on the proven rear motor variant and features a new Mohawk down the centre of the roof that improves high-speed stability and adds an aggressive look. The front end geometry has also been reshaped and improved to achieve higher front down force and reduce wheelies that cost precious time. The body comes made from high-quality polycarbonate and it includes window masks and a decal sheet.
After the international success of the original Centro mid-motor conversion for the Team Associated B4 buggy platform, Centro announce the release of a new conversion for the 1/10th T4 truck chassis. Modelled along the same lines as the B4 conversion the CT4.2 features a one-piece, 3mm thick aluminium chassis as its cornerstone along with carbon side stiffeners. The moulded gearbox housing can accommodate Team Associated’s geared differential for different track surfaces, while the moulded bulkhead supports the carbon shock tower, allowing the gearbox to be removed without suspension disassembly.
JConcepts introduce the Finnisher bodyshell for the Kyosho RT6 stadium truck in mid motor configuration. The slight cab forward, raked windshield and aggressive stance highlight a performance oriented core. A revised front hood scoop allows plenty of clearance for the unique RT6 geometry while smoothing out the front down force area. Front chin spoiler, headlight and grill protect the front-end from unwanted up-drafts during flight and the body has built-in air escape passages which allow the customer to fine-tune the body for maximum outdoor performance. The body includes a high performance gurney spoiler which increases rear grip and it also has the necessary geometry to fit the Centro CT4.2 conversion vehicle.
CML Distribution introduce brass and aluminium front bulkheads for Team Associated’s B5 and B5M buggies. The front A-arm mounts are of a 25°/30° design and come as 37g brass or 13g aluminium version to alter the weight distribution of the buggy by simply using the heavier brass or lighter aluminium part. Included in the sets are delrin bushings and mounting hardware. Also new are brass, aluminium or delrin front bulkhead braces that weight 24g, 8g and 4g respectively. The parts can be used in addition to the aforementioned parts or with the standard composite bulkhead.
JConcepts has dropped an additional option for C4.2 owners with the release of the narrow rear pivot suspension kit. The C4.2 comes stock with a slightly wider rear suspension pivot geometry which allows the vehicle to react appropriately in extremely high-grip conditions. However, when the traction is lower, additional swing is needed in the rear-end and justifies the narrow rear pivot suspension. By decreasing the size of the camber link, inner pivot virtual rectangle, the buggy transitions left to right quicker, applying force against the rear tires giving that moment of forgiveness. Drivers feel more confident as traction breaks allowing them to power down slightly quicker transitioning into a forward moment. This setup is especially good in medium to high traction conditions which drivers see on outdoor and indoor tracks throughout the year. The narrow pivot mounts must be used in conjunction with the #2323 C4.2 rear suspension kit to take full advantage of the rear suspension geometry. All parts, such as the front and rear plates and the pivot bushings are also available separately.
