CRC 1/10th GTR wheels & RT1 rubber tyres

Calandra Racing Concepts have introduced new wheels and tyres for 1/10th on-road cars. Starting with the GTR wheels, these are designed for rubber tyre 1/10th scale pan car racing, both oval and road. They are direct bolt on for 1/10th cars and in the rear, they use the standard 4 bolt mounting pattern commonly used in oval and World GT. In the front, they utilise the normal 1/8×5/16″ bearing, again very common among the 1/10th oval and World GT cars. The mounted tyres measure around 2.45″/62.2mm diameter, most all pan cars can be adjusted to make the proposed 5mm ride height rule. The rims are designed to mount tyres such as the Pit Shimizu, Tamiya TCS and CRC RT1 and the rims allow for two types of scale looks; low profile sidewall GT type cars and large sidewall NASCAR and F1 scale looks. As for the new RT1 tyres, they mount in the same style as the most popular Formula tyres, the Pit Shimizu 0571 and 0572 and the Tamiya TCS. The CRC tyre is meant to perform very well with great grip and stability on both carpet and asphalt. Coming this Fall are also pre-mounted tyre and wheel combos.

H-Speed WTF1 carbon fibre main chassis plate

H-Speed have a new carbon fibre main chassis plate for CRC’s WTF1 Formula car available. Cut from high-quality multi-directional 4mm carbon fibre the chassis allows to run a shorty LiPo pack in transversal position for increased rear traction and improved steering. The optional rear cross brace allows the use of a rubber O-ring to secure the battery pack, similar to the design seen on the Carpet Knife Xti WC 1/12th scale car. On top of that both parts will reduce the flex of the chassis for even better on-track performance.

CRC Xti-WC 1/12th scale pan car kit

CRC’s 2014 IFMAR World Championships winning Xti-WC 1/12th scale pan car kit will soon become available for the public. Building on the winning heritage from the multi-champion Xti and Xti-Altered Ego cars, the World Champion edition features a new chassis and a front sub frame U-plate as well as minor geometry tweaks to allow both stock and modified racing right out of the package. The main feature of the new design is the front sub frame that uses six attachment points rather than four. The “double decker” design coupled with the increased mounting positions results in a much more rigid front end, however, the user can remove one set of mounting points to adjust the front flex of the chassis.

CRC Rocket Fuel 6000mAh LiPo saddle pack

CRC have a new competition LiPo battery available in the form of the Rocket Fuel 2S 6000mAh saddle pack. Built from high-performance 65C cells the ROAR-approved battery comes in an orange colour hardcase and including jumper wire and balance lead.

CRC 1/12th & TLR 22 carbon fibre option parts

Calandra Racing Concepts have two new option parts available in the form of a dual extended upper plate for the company’s line of 1/12th scale chassis and a carbon fibre front shock tower for the TLR 22 buggy. Starting with the upper plate, the part fits Altered Ego and standard XTi and SE cars cars with slider rear pods and it is made to extend the upper rear shock mount to utilise the matching longer front shock positions in the chassis. The plate is made from 2.5mm QHM material and available now. Also new is the 4mm carbon fibre front shock tower for the TLR 22 buggy. Fitting older spec kits and the new 2.0 variant the part is cut from pure carbon fibre quad-axial high-modulus material for added strength. The part is a direct replacement for the stock composite tower.

Team CRC Japan Altered Ego 4mm tweak plate

Team CRC Japan introduce this 4mm carbon fibre tweak plate for the CRC Altered Ego 1/12th scale car. The part replaces the kit brace with a 4mm thick and more durable plate in order to improve crash resistance. The tweak plate is available world-wide via Team CRC Japan.

CRC Formula 1 prototype spotted

During this week’s International Indoor Championships in Las Vegas CRC is running what appears to be a prototype Formula chassis. The car in question features a double wishbone front suspension with lower carbon fibre A-arms and adjustable upper plastic arms. The rear motor pod looks like a redesigned 1/12 scale slider pod with the chassis and rear suspension being of the now-poplar link-type design to allow the in-line mounting of the battery pack. We keep you up to date with more information as soon as the become available.
