Exotek T5 & DEX210 Flite titanium front axles

Exotek T5 & DEX210 Flite titanium front axles

Exotek have new Flite-series titanium front axles for the Team Associated T5 and the Team Durango DEX210 available. Starting with the Team Associated part, the precision machined front axles weigh in at only 5g a pair while stock axles are 11g meaning a significant reduction of rotational mass as well as unsprung weight. The axles are nearly as strong as steel and they come in a polished finish for added looks. Also new are titanium wheel axles for the Team Durango DEX210 buggy. Offering a 12mm hex and an offset design the shafts allow to use standard B5 front wheels. Like the T5 Flite axles they significantly reduce unsprung weight and rotational mass compared to steel axles and they come machined to an eye-catching finish.

Exotek DEX210 RM HRC bulkhead conversion

Exotek DEX210 RM HRC bulkhead conversion

New from Exotek comes the rear motor 7075 aluminium bulkhead conversion for rear motored DEX210 series cars including the v1, v2 and ST. Co-designed with the Team Durango race factory and produced by Exotek the new concept rear motor bulkhead was used by Jörn Neumann to win the 2014 Euro Championships. Made of high-strength 7075 alloy and machined down to reduce overall weight, the new RM bulkhead provides lower inner camber link mounting points for improved high roll centre options as well as chassis mounted alloy inner ball stud mounting. The construction also re-locates the shock tower to be in front of the rear shocks and it changes the flex characteristics of the chassis and gearbox. On top of that the design makes for easier gear box access and removal and the wing can be mounted more forward or in the rear stock gearbox location. The set is available in factory gold or black anodising and it is recommended for experienced modellers as it requires hand cutting of the stock plastic gearbox.

Exotek DEX210v2 carbon rear shock tower

Exotek DEX210v2 carbon rear shock tower

New from Exotek and made for the Team Durango DEX210v2 is a rear carbon fibre shock tower. Offering a heavy duty design and a stealthy matte finish the tower, made from 5mm thick material, is much stiffer and stronger that the stock part for consistent damper action while being still light of weight due to its extra machining. Also the wide open shape allows air to pass through for better wing aero. The shock tower weighs in at 12.5g and fits the original DEX210 as well.

Team Durango DEX8T 1/8th E-Truggy kit

Team Durango DEX8T 1/8th E-Truggy kit

The new Team Durango DEX8T 1/8th scale E-Truggy kit makes use of the design features introduced with the recently announced DEX8 and DNX8, such as a patent pending sliding gear mesh centre bulkhead and all-new suspension components including a pivot ball front suspension. The truck is based on a long wheelbase 3mm 7075 aluminium chassis with hard-anodised finish and it used quick-release front and rear gearboxes to speed-up maintenance and setup work. The front and rear shock towers are cut from high-quality aluminium as are the 16mm big bore shock absorbers with threaded bodies and colour-coded springs. The suspension hanger are also aluminium parts and they feature composite inserts to allow for easy toe and kick-up changes. Like the other new Team Durango 1/8th vehicles the DEX8T comes partly assembled for reduced build time and to minimise the opportunity for errors. Components such as the shocks, diffs, steering knuckles, hubs and links come factory build which is a bit of a novelty. Included with the kit comes a pre-cut truggy bodyshell and a strong yet flexible nylon rear wing with gurney flaps that allows for aerodynamic tweaks in seconds.

Team Durango DESC10 1/10th 4WD short course truck

Team Durango DESC10 1/10th 4WD short course truck kit

The new Team Durango DESC10 4WD short course truck kit highly differs from its unofficial predecessor DESC410 as it builds on a completely new platform that shares many parts with the all-new DEX8 1/8th electric off-road buggy. The backbone of the truck is a 3mm 7075-T6 aluminium chassis onto the 3-diff drivetrain builds. A sturdy pivotball front suspension and beefy rear arms make for loads of durability as do aluminium suspension hangers with moulded composite inserts for suspension geometry adjustments. The shock towers are made from high-quality aluminium as are the threaded big bore shock absorbers. The rigid motor mount is designed for the use with 550-size and 1/8th class brushless motors while the centre differential appears to be shiftable in order to adjust the gear mesh between the pinion and the main gear. Included with the kit, that comes partly pre-built, are front and rear anti-roll bars, while the bodyshell is sold separately.

Team Durango DNX8 & DEX8 1/8th off-road buggies

Team Durango DNX8 & DEX8 1/8th off-road buggies

Following a couple of teasers Team Durango now officially introduce the DNX8 1/8th nitro and the DEX8 1/8th electric off-road buggy. Both kits are designed from the ground up and have nothing in common with their respective predecessors, the DNX408 and DEX408. Starting with the DNX8, the buggy is based on a class-standard hard-anodised aluminium chassis and it features a front pivot ball suspension, sturdy aluminium shock towers and several other alloy parts such as suspension hangers with composite inserts and more. Many of the parts come as factory-assembled pre-built items such as gear diffs, the 16mm oil-filled shock absorbers, the front steering knuckles, camber and steering links and more which not only greatly reduces build time but also possible errors. The buggy features several service time saving features such as an easy to remove radio tray, easy access linkages and more. Highly stressed parts such as driveshafts, turnbuckles and diff outdrives are made from high quality steel while the chassis braces are made from tough composite plastic. Included with the kit comes a pre-cut bodyshell with advanced aero design for improved handling.

Team Durango DESC10 4WD 1/10th SC truck

Team Durango DESC10 4WD 1/10th SC truck

Following a first teaser image Team Durango now released a more detailed photo of the DESC10 4WD short course truck. The newly designed kit looks a lot beefier than the popular and race-proven DESC410 with its 1/8th scale-ish suspension components, shock absorbers and 17mm wheel adapters. So far no features or specifications are known but the kit is meant to be on its way to the distributors and we await details on the truck, as well as the three new 1/8th vehicles, very soon.
