iModel in France have announced that French ‘Classic’ chassis manufacturer DXF Racing’s new Speed 8 1/8th scale LMP bodyshell is now available. EFRA homologated (#31520) the shell incorporates some innovated aerodynamics with the front sporting a channeled airway which helps increase front downforce. Suitable for 1/8th gas and electric chassis’.
New from French company DXF Competition is their latest 2wd classic chassis, the Premium. This car features an all new 2mm 7075 aluminium chassis, replacing the previous carbon fibre version, while retaining the innovative fuel tank from the last car that was specially created for this class. The fully adjustable rear upright now comes in red anodised aluminium instead of plastic and the handling of the car can be further tweaked with the floating front steering assembly. To top off the high spec of the car a lot of the other parts come in carbon fibre such as the front and rear body mounts, battery plate, radio plate and front pod plate.
New from French Classic chassis manufacturer, and newly crowned French National champion, DXF comes the Streto Vortex Chassis. Based on the company’s Primo chassis and developed with the help from a Ferrari engineer the car features a rear diffuser which is an essential part of the chassis and doesn’t just look good but helps with the performance too. Showing that DXF is at the leading edge of development in the Classic class, they have also developed the Megatron which uses a brushless system resulting in the same performance as a nitro car, together with 20 minutes run time.
After following the development of the new DXF classic 2wd chassis from concept through to production, we are happy to inform you that this great looking chassis is now available to buy in shops. Just like other classes that were popular a number of years ago, such as the Pro 10 class, the 1/8th scale classic class is also making a comeback with race numbers growing, along with the number of manufacturers catering for this class.
Back in September, we showed you CAD images of the DXF Competition Classic 2wd car, and since then the French company have been busy finishing the project and here are the first pictures of their all new car. Sporting a very simple and neat rear end with what looks like a gear differential, there is an engine monoblock, the radio plate sports a purpose made fuel tank and the front end looks very nice featuring plenty of adjustment. Expect it to be available in the end of January.
The 2wd ‘Classique’ class seems to be going through a bit of a resurgence of late with new cars coming out more frequently in this rather innovative class. The latest car due for release is the French made (we presume) DXF Competition chassis and while it follows the same design lines as previously released cars in this class, it loses the DIY look. Expected to be released in January next year, the car sports an aluminium chassis, fully anodised aluminium parts and the front end of the car has highly adjustable geometry.
