Richi Gómez joins HongNor team

HongNor are proud to announce that Richi Gómez is the newest addition to their Racing Team. Richi is a top competitor in the European 1/8 off-road field and he will be using the HongNor X1X-CR Team buggy at the European and World Championship this year as well as also driving HongNor competition racing cars at all other major events until the end of 2010. Richi had this to say about the deal:

I am very satisfied and have a lot of visions of this new project for the next 2 years with Hongnor. I expect to obtain with this car very good results in the next Championships in Spain and even better achievements in the European and World Championships.

HongNor at the Finnish Open Rd1

We received the following brief report from HongNor, on their teams results at the first round of the Finnish off road Nationals. In the buggy class it was Ari Heinonen that claimed 3rd position, just ahead of his team mate Petri Myllari in 4th, while in Junior Buggy it was Joonas Vuojolahti that took the win in front of Sami Sinisalo in 2nd. The truggy class saw HongNor claim a hat trick with class TQ Petri Myllari and Joonas Vuojolahti take the top 2 places with their brand new X2 truggies, while Joseph Quagraine finished 3rd, racing the X1X-CRT-Pro.

Zac Ryan joins Hong Nor

Hong Nor is proud to announce the signing of Zac Ryan to the Hong Nor Racing Team in Australia. Zac will partner Martin Wolhuter and Justin Milan at the Queensland Championships next month were he will be driving the new X1X Team buggy with the popular 16mm shocks. Zac has done very well in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa where he was runner up at the recent South African Championships.

Hong Nor are pleased to introduce their latest product, these new aluminium clutch shoes. Similar to those released last week by Jammin, these shoes are made from a special alloy that has been CNC machined, making them lightweight an so improving throttle response. The special alloy contains 10% silicon material that not only increase’s the clutch grip but also provides long lasting low wear. Sold as a set of 3, they come supplied with 2 sets of 1.0mm and 1.1mm springs as well as shims. Suitable for the X1X-CR, X1-CR, X1-CR-FTE, X1-RTR, X1X-RTR, X1-CRT, X1X-CRT, X1X-RTR-CRT, X1-CRT-RTR, CRT.5, CRT.5-RTR and others.

The British importer for HongNor, SMD, has shown details of the newly released X1CR FT BB Special Edition buggy on their website. In addition to the standard F.T. SE spec, the X1CR FT BB now includes 16mm Big Bore shocks and springs for simply awesome bumpy track stability. Further highlights include CNC machined centre diff mount, front knuckles, front plate and front & rear multi position shock towers. There is also a carbon fibre radio plate and centre diff plate and Universal joints are included all around.

Hong Nor have released this new in-line, EFRA approved, 3 chamber tuned pipe which provides high torque while offering a wide range of RPM. Manufactured with high quality polished aluminum and then chrome anodised, this pipe should look new forever while the new design “Billet Stinger” means that you should never smash the stinger end again. Pipe includes 2 exhaust seals, springs, and a 4mm setscrew and is suitable for almost all buggies and monster trucks.

HongNor lightweight spur gear

Hong Nor have now announced the release of a new lightweight spur gear with 48T, suitable for the X1CR. This new spur gear reduces the revolving mass of the center differential and delivers more power to the drive line while the gear itself is made from high carbon steel and heat treated for maximum durability.

HongNor X1CR Shock Towers

HongNor X1CR Shock Towers

HongNor have released some new upgraded shock towers for the X1CR Buggy which are CNC machined from 5mm aircraft grade 7075 T6 aluminium. Both new towers have been hard-coated with special material for wear and durability and the front tower now has multiple half holes at the top and 3 mounting holes at the bottom. The rear towers have half holes at the top and an extra row on the bottom inside which gives more setup options for different track conditions.
