HPI D-Box 2 stability control system

HPI introduce the D-Box 2 adjustable stability system for virtually every radio controlled car. Although aimed for the use in drift cars, the gyro can also be used in nitro and electric on-road and off-road vehicles as it improves vehicle control on slippery surfaces. Based on the experience gained with the original D-Box, the follow-up device offers four different settings to adjust the gyro sensitivity for perfect vehicle control without loosing steering response or gyro support. The device is simply connected between the steering servo and receiver, measures around 26.5x27x10mm and weights in at 9.5g. Before using the D-Box at a race meeting please check with the rules as tracks do not allow the use of gyros for fairness reasons.

HPI Micro RS4 Bucky Lasek Subaru Impreza WRX

Available soon from HPI Racing is the Micro RS4 #81 Bucky Lasek Puma Global Rallycross Subaru Impreza WRX STI RTR set. Based on the iconic Micro RS4 the chassis offers full-time 4WD, coil-over shocks, replica wheels, a pre-installed 2.4GHz radio system and a pre-finished Subaru bodyshell. Included are also a 180-size motor, a suitable speed controller and a 6V battery pack.

Masayuki Miura and HPI part ways

HB/HPI Racing team manager and manager of Japanese operations Masayuki Miura has made the shock announcement that he has decided to leave the company. Having worked at HPI for 11 years and been largely responsible for the company’s 2 world titles, with Andy Moore in 2006 and Atsushi Hara in 2008, his is the second high profile departure in the last 5 months following Atsushi Hara’s resignation back in August. Miura informs us that he has not yet decided what his next move will be but as soon as we find out we will let you know.

Exotek Micro RS4 option parts

Exotek introduce two new option parts for HPI Racing’s Micro RS4 line of cars. First up is the titanium rear axle and ball diff set that is designed to replace the stock gear differential. The externally adjustable ball differential makes for smooth acceleration and swift diff action setup. The alloy left and right axle hubs are polished and anodised in factory orange for looks and durability and the gear pulley set is machined from lightweight but durable POM. Included in the set are heavy duty 4x8mm axle bearings and a lightweight yet strong titanium rear axle shaft. Also new is the alloy and steel high performance CVD set for the Micro RS4. Designed to better withstand higher performance motors and batteries the driveshafts also look great too with their anodised factory orange finish.

HPI Plazma Pro 4000mAh shorty LiPo battery

New in HPI Racing’s Plazma Pro range of LiPo batteries is the 4000mAh 2S shorty pack. Build from 95C cells the pack meets the latest ROAR and EFRA size specifications and it is ideal for off-road and on-road cars alike. Included with the pack, that is fitted with 4mm female gold-plated connector tubes, comes a suitable charging and balancing harness.

JJ Wang joins HB/HPI Factory team

More Team HB / HPI announcements with JJ Wang set to again race for Team HB in Electric 1/10th Touring Car in 2014. JJ has previously represented HB / HPI competing with the TCXX in Europe, America and Asia on behalf of HPI China but he has now joined the ranks of their World Championship winning HB Factory team. JJ had this to say:

Electric racing is something I want to excel at, and to be part of the HB Factory Team gives me the performance, support, and confidence I need. I am really excited to be part of this team! Thank you Mr. Tatsuro Watanabe and Hiroyuki Kasuya for giving me this opportunity.

Adrien Bertin joins HB/HPI Racing

More HPI news with the announcement that they have signed 2-time gas onroad World Champion, and head of Orion’s engine development, Adrien Bertin. ‘We are excited not only to be adding a winner of IFMAR World Championships in both nitro on road classes but also an ambassador for RC who has earned a high level of respect across the industry. With Adrien joining our established team of top level drivers we eagerly await the start of the 2014 season and a bright future ahead for Team HB!’ Adrien had this to say:

I am really proud to join the HB / HPI Racing team and would like to thank Tatsuro Watanabe and Hiroyuki Kasuya for the great welcome I received. Hot bodies is one of the few world champion brands to have a winning car in any class it attends and this is a great demonstration of their passion and design experience. Andy Moore signs for a tenth year at HB/HPI

Andy Moore signs for tenth year at HB/HPI

Following yesterday’s confirmation that team mate Teemu Leino has re-signed with HB/HPI, former IFMAR World Champion Andy Moore is also now confirmed in the team’s lineup for 2014. Andy has been a part of the team for nearly 10 years, taking the 2006 IFMAR ISTC World Championship and recently accomplishing an A Final finish with the HB R10 at the 2013 IFMAR World Championships for 1/10th Nitro TC. Andy had this to say:

I’m happy to announce my signing of a further 1 year contract extension with HB/HPI Racing. This takes me into my landmark 10th year racing for the company and I’d like to thank Tatsuro Watanabe and Hiro Kasuya for their continued support. This year’s schedule will see me travel to races all over the world promoting HB/HPI racing products including 2 World Championships so it’s going to be a busy year but I look forward to seeing everyone at the track.
