New from Imbue for the Associated RC8B3 is their aluminium dogbone conversion kit and rulon pivot ball bushings. The conversion kit provides all the benefits of an aluminium dogbone driveline, including reduced friction, lower rotating mass and improved fuel mileage to RC8B3 & RC8B3e owners. Also new for the RC8B3, is Imbue’s Rulon (Teflon) pivot ball bushings that reduce friction by 50% over similar CNC Delrin bushings, and nearly 70% over stock nylon These bushings will smooth out your vehicles steering response and provide consistent results.
Imbue Motorsports have introduced an updated centre dogbone kit for the Mugen MBX8 and MBX7R buggies. Featuring new 5mm aluminium dogbones with harder pins for increased durability and wear, the kit also includes updated drive cups made from bearing steel which have been correctly hardened for long life. The cups also feature some minor revisions to prevent the dogbones from bottoming out, while also eliminating pinion play on MBX7R vehicles with 8×16 differential pinion bearings.
Imbue has introduced more products for the Mugen MBX8 and MBX7 platforms. First up is an aluminium centre dogbone conversion kit. Aimed at freeing up the driveline, increasing ease of maintenance and reducing overall driveline weight by 16g, this conversion fits both MBX7R and MBX8 Nitro and Eco variants and is sold as a complete set.
Imbue Motorsports have introduced their take on shock towers for HB Racing’s D817 V2. Offered in 4mm carbon fibre, these towers were designed to offer exceptional flex characteristics, providing increased grip and surface handling, as well a providing in-between shock mounting locations for finer adjustment, making them ideal for loose and rough tracks.
Coming from Imbue and made for the Mugen MBX8 and MBX7 buggies are updated +4mm shock mounts and front arm stiffener bushings. Starting with the rear shock mounts, the updated +4mm extended mounts for MBX8 and MBX7 based vehicles offer thicker hard anodising for increased wear resistance, radiused step down for greater durability and a longer mounting ball for reduced bind. The mounts are machined from high-quality aluminium and include two M3x30 mounting screws and locknuts.
Coming from Imbue are the V4 baffled brass shock pistons for 1/8th off-road vehicles. The patent pending pistons offer an innovative design that allows to fine-tune the shock package using interchangeable shims. The 16mm diameter pistons are machined from high-quality brass material and include medium and high pack baffles with the overall design allowing for a very progressive shock action and a compression speed depending pack which will result in increased car control, saver landings and an overall easier-to-drive-hard-car especially in low traction and rough track conditions. The sets include four pistons, they come as 5-hole 1.45mm and 8-hole 1.15mm/1.35mm variants and are available for Xray, Kyosho, JQRacing, Team Associated, Tekno, Mugen MBX7 and HB Racing D8 series kits.
Another new product from Imbue who have released their P3.5 X-Ring shock seals. Standard JIS sizing fits 1/8th vehicles that utilise P3.5 seals, including the Mugen MBX7, Kyosho MP9, Associated RC8B3, Xray XB8 and others utilising 3.5mm shock shafts. Made from synthetic rubber, they will not experience the dreaded silicone swell and will provide consistent performance from beginning to end. Due to the double seals, X-Rings feature a much lighter sealing pressure and offer reduced stiction and much freer, smoother shock. Available now in sets of 8.
Coming from Imbue are new optional parts for the Team Associated RC8B3 and Mugen MBX7 buggies. Adding to the company’s lineup of kit-specific upgrades is the Team Associated RC8B3 high roll centre (HRC) C-block. Made from eye-catching black oxide coated brass, the Imbue C-block adds 20g of weight in the most critical of locations for 1/8th scale buggies. Extra material around the pills increase durability, and the slightly slimmed down profile adds to the different visual appearance of the part.
