Former European Champion UK racer Chris Doughty has reached an agreement to run the full compliment of JConcepts products for 2009. Although Chris will be changing his focus slightly, by moving over to 1/8th scale buggy, he is expected to be a great asset to the team. JConcepts hopes to build on their 2008 success not only in the US, but also internationally and Chris is sure to be a part of that.

As well as a red coloured wrap JConcepts has teamed up with the apparel wizards at Good Run Gear to offer an officially licensed GRG off-road truck body wrap. Let the Truth body wrap completely redefine the look of the Slash and look like an official off-road truck while tearing up the local track or neighborhood. JConcepts have announced the release of these ‘Carvers’, a 1/10th truck front tire perfect for a variety of track surfaces. The sharp angular and directional ribs provide the ultimate in control and direction on the most common dry and wet condition surfaces, while the compact tire body combined with the JConcepts firm foam inserts allow for precise steering input and response for very consistent lap times. In new condition they excel on low traction surfaces as well as high “loamy” traction wet surfaces where no rubber has been taken into the racing surface. Worn versions excel on indoor or outdoor clay tracks where a light blue groove has formed. Available in sticky soft Blue compound and include firm foam inserts.

Multi-time US National A main driver and Multi-time Worlds Qualifier JR Mitch has switched to JConcepts for the 2009 racing season. In a statement from the company, JConcepts welcomed JR’s wealth of ability, skill, and knowledge to the team with open arms and they feel that JR will make a great addition to the growing lineup of World level drivers, and will promote their product effectively on and off the track. JR had this to say about the move:
I would like to take this opportunity to announce my departure from Pro-Line. I’ve worked together with Pro-Line promoting and running their products for just over 10 years. It’s a difficult move but I’m looking forward to my new venture with JConcepts. Thank you to Todd, Scott and Jessica for their support over the years. I greatly appreciate all that you have done.
