JConcepts 1991 Ford Mustang Fox body shell

JConcepts has adapted the iconic 1991 Ford Mustang into a street eliminator machine with the introduction of their new 1991 Ford Mustang Fox body shell. The Mustang is intended for street racing and drops to popular SCT conversions and drag racing builds currently in the market. JConcepts looked to build on the street eliminator class by adding the “Fox Body” to the line-up. With past success used as a guideline, the R&D team spent time breaking down the early model Mustangs and arrived at the roughly 13” wheel base and 10.75” width. The size accommodates the trend of utilizing SCT trucks as drag racing platforms. The end result has a low-slung appearance, tight wheel well openings, hood-scoop, bobbed tail and an extended front fascia. As an addition the set includes a rear spoiler option which attaches with an under/over technique. Each package includes a the custom window mask, 1991 generation Ford Mustang specific decal sheet and clear polycarbonate body.

The JConcepts mounts are light-weight enough for the weight conscious racer but beefy enough to stand-up to the rigours of high-end modified buggy racing. The mounts feature chamfer highlighted edging which improve the curb appeal and bring out the luster in any show or race ride. The C-block fit the B6.1, B6.1D, T6.1 and SC6.1 vehicles.

JConcepts 2010 Ford Raptor MT body shell

Made for 12” to 13” wheelbase rigid axle monster trucks is JConcepts’ new 2010 Ford Raptor body shell. As the full-scale trucks hit the mid-2000’s, they were looking for a body to spice up their act, look more racy and add another dimension to the appearance. A lot of the teams raced to market the first “trophy truck” body or desert themed monster truck and a new generation started. On the RC side of things, the option just did not exist which left a lot of scale monster truckers scratching their heads while trying to come up with that look for the scale counterparts. This is where JConcepts’ latest MT body steps in with large wheel well openings, sculptured cab, recessed windows, hood scoop and race tucked rear fenders. The body will work well on a number of solid axle trucks on the market but is also adjustable in wheelbase fitting trucks from 12” to 13” long. The race proven extra cab look allows ample room to mount the body on an Axial SMT10 and still packs a mean punch mounted on custom “shafty” and clod buster based rigs. The flat bed area can be left clear during the painting process or detailed exactly how the user wants to replicate their favourite monster. Each package includes window masks, a 2010 generation Ford Raptor specific decal sheet and the clear polycarbonate body.

JConcepts T6.1 F2 truck body shell

JConcepts’ popular F2 buggy body shell design is now also available for the Team Associated T6.1 stadium truck. One of the key features is an arrow based design where the front is much narrower than the rear. While viewed from the top down, the F2 body has increased clearance in the front-end for tyres shown to rub against the stock body during hard cornering or while running in high-traction conditions. The narrower front-end appears on-point and with an all-new grille and headlight layout with four included grille options. The imprint of the nose draws in the truck enthusiast without giving up on the futuristic twist and Finnisher heritage. Protecting the front shock tower area is done with a traditional shape but contains new louver positioning and available air-release features located just in front of the main cab. The cab is important, not only for performance but to set off the F2 design with angular roof and parallel window design. The popular dual side-window treatment has been once again incorporated into the design for maximum coverage. The new body includes the traditional Finnisher “V step-downs” in the bed area which makes it identifiable to the savvy racer. Rear shock tower humps allow plenty of clearance for a front or rear shock configuration which is a common adjustment on the T6.1 race truck. The tail of the body has been lowered with an upper and lower transition making the rear a more durable piece even with light-weight materials. The F2 includes two spoilers, one for high-bite conditions and another taller version for low or medium bite conditions. The spoilers are durable and with proper trimming and included hardware bolt directly to the back of the new shell. A slight flare to each wheel well gives some structure and rigidness to the panels and fine details the design. Between the wheel wells an F2 specific, double drop treatment has been chiseled and tucked into the hourglass shape of the rear-end. The double drop blends into a rocker panel body line which provides some stability to the layout and provides that all-important chassis clearance. As usual the body comes made of clear high-quality polycarbonate and including overspray film and window masks.

JConcepts B6.1 swing-operated battery retainer

New from JConcepts and made for Team Associated’s B6.1 based off-road kits is a swing-operated battery retainer. Designed for simplicity, adjustability and quick battery changes, the aluminium rails bolt to the standard B6.1, B6.1D, T6.1 and SC6.1 chassis side rails and with a selection of adjustment holes, can be moved to locate the battery pack fore and aft. The carbon fibre swings include pivoted control by the virtue of steel bushings. The entire assembly is secured using 3x16mm BHCS and the front screw provides the closure control and quick access for battery exchanges. Since there is a lot of variation on the height of the battery packs and what is being used at any given moment, JConcepts has included different spacers to accommodate different heights. When using a tall battery pack, it is necessary to install the tall stand-offs under the aluminium rails to raise the height of the entire assembly and if more height is needed, the included 2mm spacers are installed to raise the carbon fibre swings giving the most amount of height. For low-profile battery packs, no stand-offs are required under the aluminium rails. The set is available in blue or black colours.

JConcepts B6.1 series Aero rear diffusor

Coming from JConcepts is their new Aero rear diffusor for the Team Associated B6.1 series vehicles. A rear diffuser is a huge part of full-scale race car aerodynamic grip which has shown to improve performance. In off-road racing, ride-height, ground clearance and suspension travel substantially affect handling and are routinely adjusted to benefit one section of the track or another. It is difficult to install low-mounted aerodynamic features because of the general abuse off-road vehicles endure, however, JConcepts has taken on the task to mount another aero option. For the all-important balance between flat track tuning and elevation off-road features, JC has moved the diffuser into a higher position. The position, although not traditional, still provides affects of aerodynamics without limiting rear clearance. The item includes two pieces and can be fitted easily to popular vehicles like the B6.1, T6.1 and SC6.1. The aerodynamic device uses the same 3mm hardware as the rear ball-stud mount and it installs on top and is secure with the same screws.

JConcepts 817 series front scoop

JConcepts has introduced a front aero item for the popular and successful HB Racing 817 1/8th off-road buggy platform. The front scoop replaces the front nose-cone on the vehicle with a front wing design that has shown to produce enhanced steering characteristics and increased feel and sensitivity in the larger sweeping sections while helped jumping attitude in tricky jump sections of the track. The front scoop is usable with the D817 and E817 series buggies includes two pieces per package so a driver has enough to outfit their nitro and e-buggy with the same package.
