JConcepts EB410 F2 body & front scoop

JConcepts have introduced their new F2 body shell and front scoop for the Tekno EB410 1/10th 4WD buggy. Starting with the body, the lid’s design is based off of the original Finisher body but the F2 provides an even more aggressive look with an increased windshield angle that provides a steady force upfront during mid-flight wind gusts on large jumps and simplified side pods to remove unwanted changes in height. The narrow rear-end of the Tekno played a role in the look and feel, however, the JConcepts designers wanted more. The team incorporated a high-end floor feature which aggressively provides a look and feel not seen before on an RC car and reminiscent of an open wheel Formula car. The F2 is also dramatically lower in height and special consideration was made for the steering, servo horn and front geometry to allow the body to have that drop-on fit. The EB410 kit includes a side-mount fan option which has also been taken into consideration with the F2 body design. The body includes a louver design built into the right hand side pod which runs alongside the fan and scribe lines where the user can add holes for direct air circulation. In addition to the newly designed body, JConcepts has included two of the latest S-Type Aero rear wings used by Ryan Maifield to win the 2017 IFMAR World Championships. The rear wing is also available separately in a 2-piece set as is a front scoop/nose cone that also is a direct fit on the EB410.

JConcepts YZ4-SF S1 body shell

Coming from JConcepts is the S1 body shell for the Yokomo YZ4-SF 4WD buggy. One of the most recognisable items, the Silencer body style, has now been designed as the original manufacturer kit body for the Yokomo YZ4-SF buggy. It features the common Silencer attributes such as a profiled cockpit and cubicle side-pods, a slight recess just behind the cab with channeling out the rear, and the side-pods have a clipped rear-end, narrowing the rear by angling in just in front of the rear tyres. The main pods are lightly chamfered front and rear allowing plenty of paint and decal access. The end result has the body looking extremely low-profile with heavy JConcepts edginess and appeal. The Silencer is capped off with a cockpit shark fin for more high-speed tracking stability and increased roof stiffness. The package includes two S-Type wings pre-marked for the Yokomo YZ2 and YZ4-SF for the easiest application. Also the body has two cut lines to choose from. The most open cut line can change the performance or aide in the cooling inside the body. The more aggressive (larger opening) cut line is preferred on outdoor tracks or where ambient temperatures are really warm.

JConcepts Triple Dees 1/8th truck tyre

JConcepts have introduced their new Triple Dees 1/8th truck tyre. Based off of the iconic Double Dees design the tread was developed for loose and tacky track conditions that require small pin designs. Starting with finely spaced square mini lugs, the JConcepts design team spent considerable time proofing this design. Centre bar structure is important for wear characteristics and an overlapping and blended centre bar was created. The bar draws up the side of the pin to maintain all important support but the main stance is low so the tyre maintains its clean-out ability during acceleration. The main-stay of the design is the angled and sharp pins which spread across the carcass in an open pattern touching off the track surface like no other. Near the side-wall the pins have been trimmed and angled to give racers a smooth driving experience as they enter and exit tacky turns or slightly rough terrain. Available in grippy compounds such as blue, green and long-wear R2 the new tyres are packaged in reusable packaging for freshness and convenience and they come including grey Dirt-Tech inserts.

JConcepts MT410 protective overtray

Coming from JConcepts and made for the Tekno RC MT410 monster truck is a protective overtray. When racing or bashing on a loamy or top-soil dirt surface, the inside of the MT410 chassis can become loaded with dirt or debris which creates extra weight. With the overtray these worries are minimised as the accessory fits snug around the entire chassis structure while being attached along the sides of the chassis with hook and loop tape for easy access. The overtray is built with height to provide extra room for various electrical and battery configurations but is still low enough for a clean fit and installation. There is a slight opening at the front-end which manoeuvres around the steering assembly and top-deck and also an open rear-end to provide some natural air-flow in and out of the closure. The tray has large front and rear trim-able openings which can be detailed for air-in and escape. The overtray comes clear and untrimmed.

JConcepts Fling Kings tyres & Dragon 2.6” wheels

Made for the use with JConcepts’ Sling King Mega Truck body shell as well as comparable vehicles are the new Fling Kings 2.6” Mega Truck tyres and Dragon 2.6” wheels. The Fling Kings is the first true to scale, RC Mega Truck tyre, specifically designed to throw mud, dirt, gravel and grass just like the real thing. They are designed for the new JConcepts 2.6” Dragon wheel, making them even more scale in appearance. The bead of the tyre features a 3-step surface which provides a massive amount of area for glue to rest giving the utmost security for full-throttle mud runs. No details were spared on these mud runners, the V-type tread is replicated to a T and the top of the tread carries a slight recess adding a little touch of depth to the appearance. The soft blue compound which is recommended for dirt, grass and asphalt feels noticeably mushy and sticky and has expanding characteristics and tend to “pizza cutter” during flat out high-speed runs. The gold compound feels harder to the touch, excels on polished or hard surfaces and expands less during high-speeds. Fling Kings tires are complete and include open cell “React” inserts to support the grippy tyres.

JConcepts King Sling Mega Truck body

JConcepts have introduced the new King Sling Mega Truck body shell. From the mind of Dennis Anderson, the wild and wooly King Sling was born. The ultimate Mega Truck, born in Poplar Branch, North Carolina, has a wild side, combining the brute power and durability of a monster truck with the madness of a mud racer. King Sling is a beast, and JConcepts has worked together with designers and builders to replicate this body shell to fit on a host of popular chassis including the Axial SMT10. The slate was once again wiped clean and the form started to take shape in the computer to fit and finish on a selection of vehicles. A lot of hand dressing took place to ensure the details were correct on the shell itself, not to mention the iconic wing shape and rear scoop treatment. Fred “Freestyle” Reep sat shotgun on this project reviewing the style, shape and decal creation to ultimately please the man, the myth the legend, Dennis Anderson. No superstar race machine would be complete without decoration. The King Sling is the first JConcepts body to include two decal sheets in the package that covers logos, signatures, flames and branding recognition.

JConcepts 2.2” Rangers MT tyres & Midwest wheels

Coming from JConcepts are the new 2.2” Rangers MT scale trees and Midwest 2.2” MT 12mm hex wheels. Starting with the tyres, the 2.2” Rangers resemble the iconic 48” tyres that started the monster truck craze back in the 1970’s. The 1/10th scale variant makes use of the popular 2.2” wheel dimensions and it features the popular the Zig-zag tread, scale depth and side-wall lettering. The included open cell React inserts fill the void inside and help stabilize the large contact patch of the famous looking tyres. The low-profile stance stays very flat during race course competition, speed-runs or general use. The tyre carcass profile holds the weight extremely low while the design of the tyre beads allow just the right amount of contact patch for gluing and application. The Rangers tyre is available in the soft “blue” compound which is recommended for dirt, grass and asphalt while “gold” compound feels harder to the touch and excels on carpet, AstroTurf and polished concrete surfaces and expands less during high-speeds.
