JConcepts Dirt Webs 1/8th buggy tyres

JConcepts Dirt Webs 1/8th buggy tyres

JConcepts’ Dirt Webs tyre is now also available in an 1/8th buggy variant. Developed by Brian Kinwald and Jason Ruona the indoor-specific tyre has already proven its performance in 1/10th buggy racing and now the clay tread is also available for the 1/8th class. Originally based on the popular Pressure Points, the tyre design connects uniformly positioned Web-Bars to create an amazingly stable tyre. During 2014, the design was converted to use on a 1/8th buggy carcass and debuted during the 1/8th E-buggy ROAR Nationals in Houston, Texas. The Dirt Web tread sits on the proven JConcepts 1/8th tyre carcass giving a low-profile, wide-body appearance allowing clipped tread to extend all the way to the outer edges. The carefully shaped profile allows a great balance of monster forward traction and comfortable side-bite. Available in multiple compounds and including closed cell inserts, the Dirt Webs can easily be matched to any track conditions ranging from indoor clay, indoor dirt to outdoor hard-packed or treated clay or dirt.

JConcepts 60mm 2.4″ Dirt Webs buggy tyres

JConcepts 60mm 2.4" Dirt Webs buggy tyres

JConcepts introduce the popular Dirt Webs tyres in new 60mm 2.4″ specification. The tread was originally designed in 2012 by Brian Kinwald and Jason Ruona and it immediately showed exceptional results at races such as the Hot Rod Shootout. During the early stages of 2014, the team experimented with a larger 60mm 2.4″ bead mounting diameter at events such as the Cactus Classic and Surf City Classic. In the hands of Spencer Rivkin, the 60mm tyre and wheel combination displayed advantageous performance in high-grip conditions thanks to the taller bead combined with the included 60mm Dirt-Tech inserts. The tyre is available as 2WD front, 4WD front and general rear variant in blue, green, gold, silver, black and red compound.

Eric Hodge wins 2WD Mod at Race for the VETTS

Eric Hodge wins 2WD Mod at Race for the VETTS

The Race for the VETTS was hosted by the T&T Speedway indoor facility in Shreveport, LA with the event attracting drivers from the Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana region. With 23 entries the 2WD Modified Buggy was the largest class in the field of almost 80 total entries. Qualifying was based on your one fastest of three runs. Eric Hodge TQ’d 2WD Mod Buggy, being the only buggy driver to put in a 20 lap run. The 8 minute, 10 car A-final was pretty stacked with names like Larry Pryor and Mugen Seiki driver Drew Spurgeon. Overall the main was pretty uneventful and “a racers dream” for Eric as he put in a near flawless run to take an unchallenged tone to tone victory.
