MD Racing MDT15 – Prototype images

MD Racing MDT15 – Prototype images

Following a set of renderings, Spanish company MD Racing now released first prototype images of their forthcoming MDT15 touring car. Currently built from rapid prototype parts, a fully functional car should be ready to hit the tracks in around 2 weeks time. The MDT15 sports a conventional layout with the battery placed on the right hand side and the motor, speedo and steering servo on the left side of the chassis but especially the front and rear bulkheads heavily differ from current designs as their L-shape allows to permanently mount the shock towers to the bulkheads while the front spool and rear differential being accessible by undoing 4 screws each without having to remove the shocktower and shocks as most current designs require. The upper and lower A-arms are also of a different design but compared to previously released renderings these are only mock-ups at the moment. We bring you more information on the car as soon as they become available.

MD Racing electric touring car – Teaser

MD Racing electric touring car – Teaser

Spanish company MD Racing have released first teaser images of their forthcoming electric touring car kit. The car is a mix of new and already proven ideas with the A-arms being of a pivot ball design over the more common C-hub/rear hub construction with suspension pins, while the upper deck is mounted vertically within the chassis. The steering is of an adjustable tail-type design and the bulkheads allow to remove the front and rear axle/differential without disturbing the shocks or shock tower settings as the shock tower brackets are part of the bulkheads and not the bulkhead covers. It is understood that the first prototypes are ready to hit the track in around 3 weeks. We bring you more information on the car as soon as they become available.

MD Racing MDF14 formula 1 chassis kit

We recently brought you first CAD rendering of the Spanish MD Racing MDF14 1/10th formula 1 chassis and now a first pre-production image os available. Based on a carbon fibre main chassis the vehicle will feature a U-shaped top deck that connects behind the battery compartment, a front aluminium bulkhead makes for step-less caster angle adjustment while a rail-type rear pod design allows to adjust the ground clearance with the help of grub screws located in the rear axle inserts and motor mount. The depicted car is a prototype with the actual kits will contain gold-anodised aluminium parts, aluminium body mounts, aluminium preload nuts for the side springs and thumb screw supported battery mounts from what is understood.
