MiniPro Inertia Engine Dyno V2

MiniPro has announced it newest Engine Dyno which is designed for break-in, tuning and testing nitro engines.  The new Inertia Engine Dyno V2 features include true engine torque and power by using an inertia flywheel with it also possible to brake-in your engine with data logging capability with the Dyno controller board having nine I/O ports for sensors.  It also has a built-in throttle control sensor and Ambient Temperature, Pressure and Humidity sensor.  The Dyno allows you to test engines under load with correction factor and its modular design allows different size engines and exhausts configurations.  On the dyno the engine can be started with starter box, pull-start or electronic starter with the aluminium base with anti-vibration foot pads.

MiniPro Motor Dyno V2

Almost 8-years on from the launch of their first Motor Dyno, MiniPro has released a V2 version of the R/C Car Inertia Motor Dynamometer.  The new V2 was designed for the testing all types of R/C motors, brushed or brushless.  The load on the motor is produced by the inertia flywheel unit, a high quality 6061 aluminium frame cover around the flywheel to protect from high rpm speeds, and an embedded dyno board to accurately measure the acceleration of the DUT (device under test).  The dyno uses a pinion/gear combination to accelerate the inertial mass (flywheel). Its embedded dyno board takes the flywheel’s inertia (resistance of an object to a change in its state of motion), and measures the rate it takes to accelerate it and calculates the output power and torque of the DUT.  The dyno repeatedly measures and calculates power in small increments to produce an accurate graph on a PC of the motor’s power characteristics.  Precise, otherwise known as “Repeatability” is what you want in a dyno, that means test the same electric motor time after time and get the same results. The V2 dyno is capable of repeatable test results using the built-in Throttle controller sensor (license required).

MiniPro 2WD chassis dyno

Coming from MiniPro is a 2WD chassis version of their chassis dynamometer system. The device allows to measures the RPM, kV, voltage, current draw, power and torque output of vehicles up to 370mm wheelbase and 370mm width. This dyno is ideal for motor analysis, ESC and boost adjustment, brushless sensor adjustment, gearing calculation, tire selections, and much more. It is coupled with to a knurled roller via a pulley and belt to accelerate the inertial flywheel. The electronic board takes the flywheel’s inertia, measures the rate it takes to accelerate and calculates the output power and torque of the vehicle. The dyno repeatedly measures and calculates power in small increments to produce an accurate graph on a PC of the engine’s power characteristics. The vehicle is stopped onto the dyno with adjustable belt stripes, allowing to use a multitude of different chassis such as 1/10th formula, 1/10th and 1/12th pan cars. The dyno is available including or without flywheel unit and it us usable with MS Windows 7, 8 or 10 PC systems.
