RC-Project MBX8 Ackermann steering kit

Coming from RC-Project and made for the Mugen MBX8 series of vehicles is an Ackermann steering kit. The set was developed to optimise the steering characteristics of the vehicles by allowing for full steering lock and increasing the steering angle of the outer wheel by 12 degrees. This results in better turn in and more consistent cornering while making the car easier and more precise to control in fast sections also. Part of the package are redesigned outer steering spindle plates that offer two different steering link positions, the standard “S” marked position for high-grip and a new aggressive “A” geometry for slippery tracks. The set is machined from high-quality 7075-T6 Ergal material, the parts come with a black surface coating for wear and looks and also included are Reverse-type pivot balls whose updated geometry fine-tune the whole steering system.

Rebellion-RC MTC1 MM mid-motor chassis conversion kit

Coming soon from RC-Carbonstore’s Rebellion-RC brand is the MM mid-motor chassis conversion kit for the Mugen MTC1 4WD electric touring car. The main feature of the upgrade set is the patent pending sliding motor mount design that allows gear mesh adjustment through the chassis bottom, with the narrow design of the whole assembly ensuring the overall motor and battery width remains the same as in the “rear motor” standard car, creating a very centralised weight distribution and less unwanted chassis roll compared to current mid motor conversions. In addition the design makes for an ultra low centre of gravity while allowing integrated flex settings via up to seven motor mount screws. The sliding design also ensures a very wide gear mesh adjustment range, fitting up to 48T pinion and 114T main gears, making the conversion ideal for both stock and modified racing. The final specification of the kit now also incorporates several chassis stiffness adjustment areas that allow to brace the upper and lower deck in front of the rear bulkhead, and in front of the centre shaft – allowing to access complex chassis flex settings. Included are also precision 3-D-printed and machined 38T spool and gear diff pulleys that make for an internal 1.9 gear ratio. The kit is available with a standard carbon fibre, a standard aluminium or a CrossFlex aluminium main chassis. The latter two feature a black hard-anodised and laser etched surface finish but not the shiny silver alloy prototype chassis visible in the images. Included with the kit, that is completely made in Austria, also come high-quality Bando Kevlar belts as well as all needed screws and bearings. Not included however is the necessary Xray off-set main gear. The kits will become available early to mid-December.
