Pro-Line MBX-7 Phantom bodyshell

Pro-Line MBX-7 Phantom bodyshell

Seen in teaser form only days ago Pro-Line now officially introduce the Phantom design bodyshell for the Mugen MBX-7 buggy. Making use of the distinctive design elements first seen on the 1/10th buggy Phantom bodies, the 1/8th scale variant again makes use of an aggressively styled cabin and a flowing rear section that culminates in a single point in front of the shock tower. An optional add-on rear fin helps with straight-line stability both at highspeed and while jumping. The body is meant to make a first public appearance at this week’s ROAR Gas Offroad Nationals in Texas. Red RC is on site with a full coverage that can be found by clicking here.

LMR MBX-7 carbon fibre RX battery holder

LMR MBX-7 carbon fibre RX battery holder

LMR introduce this carbon fibre battery holder for the Mugen MBX-7 buggy. Being a pure carbon fibre part it not only looks good but also protects LiPo and LiFe receiver battery packs from impacts. LMR recommends to simply tape the battery in place using a strong double-sided tape.

Mugen MTX-6 Prototype – Preview

Mugen MTX-6 Prototype – Preview

During this weekend’s 3rd round of the Euro Nitro Series, run at the famous Hockenheimring in Germany, Mugen are on site with the prototype of the forthcoming MTX-6 200mm nitro car. The recently crowned ETS champion Ronald Volker is in attendance using a car he borrowed from fellow countryman and good friend Robert Pietsch. The big news, though, comes from the fact that the car he is running is a 99% stage prototype of the new 200mm car from Mugen Seiki which will be called MTX-6. We spoke to Ronald and Robert, who talked us through the main new features. First of all there are a bunch of reinforced parts, such as the chassis, the differential mounts, the rear arms and their mounting brackets, the rear differential plastic parts and the front turnbuckles. The second gear has also being reinforced, the spur and the pinion now being both 1mm wider, which together with the new carbon fibre stiffeners should help solve the problems that some customers had on the MTX-5 with their second gear. Staying on the rear end, the braking system is moved on the gear shaft, and its improved linkage provides more power. The front end also features new differential mounts that allow faster access and a new servo saver with interchangeable ackermann plates, while on both front and rear the car also sports lower shock towers.

Mugen MBX-7T 1/8th nitro & electric truggy kits

Mugen MBX-7T 1/8th nitro & electric truggy kits

Following a handful of leaked images Mugen Seiki now have official images of the forthcoming MBX-7T nitro and MBX7-T Eco electric truggy kits available. The follow-up models of the popular MBX6-T line of race trucks build on the World Championship winning MBX-7 and feature a pivot ball front suspension while the rear design sports conventional hubs. The kits come with aluminium suspension mounts with composite inserts to adjust the kick-up, anti-squat and toe angles and a 3mm hard-anodised aluminium chassis builds a tough base for the lightened drivetrain with machined gears. The radio tray and receiver boxes received a make-over compared to the MBX-6T with the MBX-7T now featuring a new radio tray with front mounted receiver battery. The electric-powered MBX-7T Eco comes with a class-standard front battery mount while the motor and speed controller are located behind the centre differential. Other parts included in the kits are heavy duty aluminium shock towers, aluminium big bore shock absorbers and newly designed low-profile cab forward bodyshells. Both kits are set for a release in May.
