Mugen Seiki Japan have released the first photos and specs for their all new 1/10th 200mm chassis, the MTX-5. Shown in CAD form for the first time at last February’s Toy Fair in Germany, the Robert Pietsch designed car looks close to release, however no date has yet been set.

Only 180 kits will be available around the globe and the future owners will have the chance to get this exclusive kit, DNA of European & World Champion’s Robert Pietsch winning car. This World Edition kit features the latest and finest parts used at this in Florida such as the new clutch system and new lightweight front axles. And to bring out the true potential of this car, it comes also supplied with steel engine mounts, brass battery holder and radio tray holder all made in Germany. The chassis plates will be numbered and it comes with a certificate when it goes on sale from the end of July.

CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminium it too is completely true and has been hard-coated for extra durability. Light weight, it features holes in the side wall to help debris escape and dissipate heat produced by friction.

Mugen have announced the release of an all new option 5mm longer chassis, with 5mm longer rear center drive shaft, for the MBX6T Truggy. The chassis is extended 5mm on the rear section which will allow for more weight to be placed forward which in turn will increase corner entry speed and stability. This new chassis length will increase high speed stability which will be especially noticed in rough sections. Available the end of July.

Mugen USA got in touch to tell us about the new Ninja JX21B02 .21 off-road buggy and truggy nitro racing engine. The company teamed up with O.S. Engine to create a 3-port long stroke engine with a new piston/sleeve design. The long stroke creates a stronger more linear power band from low end top fuel high end speed while the redesigned crankcase and crankshaft make for better performance and higher fuel economy. The light weight cooling head is 10 fins high but it sits 8mm lower than the previous Ninja engine for a low centre of gravity.
