Losi Mini 8ight DB 1/14 4WD RTR buggy

Losi have introduced their new Mini 8ight DB 1/14th scale 4WD RTR buggy. Based off of the iconic Mini 8ight, the vehicle utilises a shaft-driven 4WD chassis with alloy main plate, metal gear differentials, full ball bearings and 48 pitch gears. A realistic bodyshell and grippy all-terrain tyres on multi-spoke rims as well as a large rear wing make the buggy stand out while granting mud-shredding performance. The vehicle is powered by a Dynamite 3800kv brushless power system that is good for speeds of over 45km/h with an optional 3S LiPo battery. Also included in the package are a Spektrum STX2 transmitter and a SRX200 2-channel waterproof receiver. The Mini 8ight DB comes in two bodyshell colour variants and it will hit stores in early June.

Capricorn sign Kyle Branson

Italian company Capricorn have announced the return of Kyle Branson to their team. Following a short stint with newcomers Infinity, Kyle will campaign Capricorn cars in 1/8th and 1/10th nitro on-road as well as in 1/10th electric touring classes at events such as the ENS and the European and World Championships. Kyle says:

I want to thank Patrizio Rossi for welcoming me back to rejoin Capricorn after a short departure. I really look forward to working close with Patrizio and the rest of the team in the future. The first race I will attend will be round 1 of the ENS in May.

MIP B64 Puck drive system & 22-4 alloy race shaft set

Coming from MIP are new option parts for the Team Associated B64 and the TLR 22-4 2.0 buggies. Starting with the B64 part, the new 13.5 aluminium Puck drive system sheds about 50 percent or 36 grams of rotational mass when compared to the OEM drivetrain. The puck system is only to be used in 13.5 and lower turn classes with gear diffs only. The set includes front and rear Bi-Metal R-CVD dogbones for the front, rear and centre as well as outdrives, diff cross pins, the Puck assemblies and small parts. As for the TLR 22-4 2.0 specific part, the MIP 13.5 Race Shaft set sheds nearly 10 grams or 60 percent rotational mass from the two layshafts. Both of these systems will increase acceleration, shed grams, and decrease motor fatigue throughout the run.

Developed with blinky and boosted stock racing in mind, the battery is made using high-quality 120C cells that offer a super-low internal resistance and a flat discharge curve which leads to an overall increased performance even till the end of the run. The battery weighs in at 285g, it is of standard dimensions and only 22.3mm tall for a low centre of gravity.

Yeah Racing Sprint 2 adjustable battery tray

Yeah Racing have introduced an adjustable battery tray for RWD drift car converted HPI Racing Sprint 2 cars. The mount attaches to the very rear of the chassis, shifting the weight back for improved traction and corner stability. The design allows to take either standard-size or shorty packs and the battery is easily removed by undoing four body clips. Thanks to its adjustable design and bottom plate the battery mount is also usable for the cars of other brands.

Team Powers M-Radon ESC & MBX sensored BL motor

Team Powers have released first information on their forthcoming M-Radon sensored brushless speed controller and sensored MBX brushless motor. Aimed towards the use in 1/27th mini-size cars, 1/10th motorcycles and other applications, the speed controller makes use of hardware and software ideas taken over from the Radon V2 1/10th speed controller to create a powerful yet widely adjustable ESC that allows for adjustable drive and brake frequencies, power band control and even data recording functions. The controller is adjustable using a simple LED programming card or an optional PC interface and it is usable with 2S LiPo packs and up to 10,000kv brushless motors. As for the motor, the MBX is of a sensored design for improved low-RPM start up without cogging issues, it measures 16x27mm and is available in a 7200kv or 8400kv variant.

RDRP B6-series aluminium wing mount set

Coming from Revolution Design Racing Products is new aluminium wing mount set for the Team Associated B6 and B6D buggies. The wing mounts are machined from high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium for improved rigidity and durability while the overall design, anodised surface and silver edge details make for visual impact. A connecting carbon fibre plate was machined at an angle, allowing to adjust the rear wing angle in order to further fine-tune aerodynamic downforce. On top of this does the large surface carbon plate let the wing rest on a more sturdy base than common wing mounts, prolonging the wing’s life while also optimising overall downforce. The wing mounts are available in black or blue anodising.
