Scorpion introduce two new high-performance thread cutter tools, the thread die and thread tap driver. The thread die driver comes in the three dimensions of M2, M2.5 and M3 and it cuts threads on rods or blank screws while the thread tap drivers help to cut threads into newly drilled holes and they can also be used to rethread damages threads. The thread tap driver comes as M2x0.4mm, M2.5×0.4mm, M3x0.5mm and M4x0.7mm variant with both tools being made from high-quality HSS high speed steel for durability and precision while the tool handles sport Scorpion’s signature gold and black colour.

Adam Drake joins Hitec factory team

Hitec RCD USA have announced the signing of Mugen Seiki’s Adam Drake to use their full product line. Since 2005, Adam has been a Hitec team driver using their servo technology to make him a world-renowned racing champion. Now, in addition to running Hitec’s brushless servos, Adam will be piloting his vehicles using the company’s radio systems also, specifically the Lynx 4S radio and Axion line of receivers.

Team Titan Blitz TS040 1/8th on-road bodyshell

New from Team Titan comes the Blitz TS040 1/8th on-road bodyshell. Compared to the popular TS030 the new body offers similar initial steering but improved mid-corner rotation, allowing to corner faster and to step on the throttle sooner. The body is therefore best suited for smaller tracks with tight corners and hairpins. The EFRA-approved TS040 comes clear, including side stiffeners, window mask, stickers and as 1.2mm strong, 1.0mm standard, 0.8mm light or 0.7mm ultra light variant.

RB BXR SLS5 V2 nitro off-road engine

Following the introduction of the BXR LS5 Plus the French company RB now announce the BXR SLS5 V2 engine. The V2 version of the super long stroke 5-port engine features a redesigned sleeve with updated intake ports timing and lateral intake ports orientation for increased torque and improved overall power. The engine also comes with a redesigned carburettor with double adjustment and an extra sprayer for make for better idling and easier adjustment. The package is rounded out by a new low centre of gravity engine head that still allows for very good cooling and the SLS5 V2 is best used on slippery or bumpy tracks where smooth acceleration yet a good amount of torque is needed.

Stu Wood teams up with Xray

Stu Wood teams up with Xray

Xray has announced the signing of British off-road legend Stu Wood to their 1/10th electric off-road team. Stu will race both the XB4 and XB2 and he will coordinate the UK off-road support. Stu has the following to say:

I would like to thank to Xray for this lifetime opportunity to be part of team which produces the best RC products today. I have competed at all levels of racing from beginner to World Championships and I know what it takes to win and I know I can help the Xray team and they can help me.

Serpent F110 SF2 formula kit

Serpent introduce the all-new F110 SF2 1/10th scale formula car kit. Designed by Michael Salven and David Ehrbar the car is based on a 2.5mm carbon fibre chassis and it features a new front end design compared to its predecessor with 2.5mm lower carbon fibre and upper composite A-arms, adjustable ride height for both rubber and foam tyres as well as quick adjustable castor using moulded inserts. To fine-tune the steering characteristics the king pin angle is adjustable using inserts and the included independent front suspension set with tube dampers helps to smooth-out the suspension action.

TLR 8ight-E 3.0 cab forward bodyshell

Team Losi Racing soon have a new cab forward bodyshell for the 8ight-E 3.0 electric 1/8th scale buggy available. Sporting a distinctive design the body offers a channelled roof section for improved stability and simplified side pods for a clean design, improved airflow and lots of space for the electric components. The body comes clear and will hit the stores in May.

Tyler Vik continues with FX

Tyler Vik continues with FX

FX has announced that Tyler Vik continues to use FX engines in the 2015 season. Tyler Vik is a well-known, professional off-road racer and he will use the Slovakian engines at all regional, national and international races. Tyler had the following to say:

Despite FX Engines was a brand new in the market, I didn’t hesitate to give them a try, and now I know I made the correct choice. The speed and reliability never let me down during last year and as such I decided to stay with the engine I have full trust in – the FX engine.
