Mark Pavidis joins VP PowerMaster

VP PowerMaster would like to welcome our new addition to the team, 2006 IFMAR Nitro Off-Road World Champion, Mark Pavidis. Mark is one of the most widely-known and accredited off-road racers in the R/C racing world. Mark’s name is also synonymous with AKA Products, the championship winning tires and accessory company he co-founded with two other R/C legends, Joel Johnson and Gil Losi Jr. Mark knows a thing or two about R/C and what it takes to win at the highest levels of R/C nitro racing. He chose VP PowerMaster to give him solid performance and incredible fuel economy. In Mark’s first race out on VP PowerMaster he brought home the TQ and win in the 1/8 Buggy Masters class at this year’s 2013 Nitro Challenge race in Arizona and then did it all again at the 2013 Silver State Off-road Challenge in Vegas.

Serpent 747 lower front & rear shock towers

Serpent 747 lower front & rear shock towers

New for the 747, Serpent introduces lower front and rear carbon shock towers to be able to use the Serpent Super-Short shocks, which were originally made for the Eryx 411 TC car, and together help lower the car’s center of gravity. The strong 3mm thick front shock tower has 3 options for shock angle with the middle and top used mostly and also has the center holes to mount the center front body mount. The 3mm thick rear low carbon shock tower also has 3 holes for shock angle, and features extra holes to mount the extra body support system with fine tuning options. The Serpent RCM Super-short shocks have the key advantage that you can use the same springs you already have.

Contact J compound 1/12th circuit tyres

Contact J compound 1/12th circuit tyres

Contact RC Tyres have announced a new range of 1/12th Circuit tyres known as ‘J compound’. Over the last 12 months contact drivers have been testing a lot of different rubber types and are now happy to provide this ready for sale. The new rubber is especially good on high traction conditions where the track is especially grooved in. The tyre will react with less aggression than their original 1/12th compounds, which are good for lower traction conditions and can be easily identified with the new gun metal wheel colour.

JConcepts Finnisher for Agama A8 Evo

JConcepts Finnisher for Agama A8 Evo

Further expanding their line of Finnisher bodies, JConcepts have made their popular body shell available for the Agama A8 Evo. Increased windshield angle provides a steady force upfront during mid-flight wind gusts on large jumps while the forward cab placement changes performance / visible bias which helps steering rotation in low traction corners. A slightly channeled roof-line helps stabilize the vehicle at high-speed while the side-pods have been simplified and JC chamfered to remove unwanted changes in height to neutralize the at-speed handling. The chassis to body fit has been tightened up which eliminates empty voids that contribute to mid-flight directional changes rear of the cab has a new step feature which allows the placement of a secondary side window and also a louver which can be trimmed to allow air to escape at the top of the body.

Exotek F104v2 flex chassis & options

Exotek F104v2 flex chassis & options

Exotek Racing introduce three new option parts for Tamyia’s F104v2 formula chassis in the form of a flex chassis, TRF shock mount and adjustable arm mount plates. Starting with the chassis set, the slightly thinner plate is designed to increase the overall grip both front and rear and helps to reduce traction roll tendencies making it ideal for rubber tire classes. The chassis also updates the side links to an angled geometry to increase rear pod traction and to reduce link binding when the rear pod is articulated. The plate retains the stock location holes for added tuning. Added to the chassis is a 3rd position battery stop location allow a small ESC to be mounted in back, a shorty pack in the middle and the receiver at the front which is ideal for asphalt racing. Included in the set is a new design 2.5mm thick rear pod plate. The plate adds 2 slots for better side link performance. The set includes a 1mm front wing spacer for added wing clearance. The second new part is the lightweight carbon fiber TRF shock mount plate for the v2 chassis. The part allows hassle free mounting of the damper for perfect rear pod droop and perfect centered ball end position and offers two mounting positions for the small F104v2 and the optional TRF damper. Last but not least comes the carbon fiber inner mount plate for the Exotek adjustable arm set. It replaces the heavier Tamiya alloy mount and scrubs 6g of weight.
