Chazz Sinclair of X Factory got in touch to tell us about their recent progress with the new X-7 4WD buggies they made. This weekend will set a milestone for the Gen 5.1 called prototypes as they are raced in two very important races – one of which is the ROAR National Championship at NorCal Hobbies.

Contact Tyres are very proud to announce that top Italian driver Dario Balestri has joined their international team. During practice at the 1/8th European Championship in Luxembourg Dario tested Contact Tyres and the performance prompted him to choose our brand for the rest of the year and for 2012. He has already shown great pace with Contact tyres, TQ’ing In Luxembourg, winning his semi final and starting from pole in the main. Dario will compete next week at the 1/10th European Championship in Ettlingen, with Contact brand manager Piero Torregiani there also to support him and all Contact drivers and customers.

Edam release a new optional anti-roll bar set for the Spirit chassis. The set contains a multi-piece plastic holder for the rear bulkhead with grub screws to adjust the up and down play when using optional wires of different thickness.

Shortly after releasing front lower suspension arm shafts for Mugen’s MRX-5 1/8 scale on-road car Arrowmax now comes up with suitable parts for the rear end. Made from high-quality spring steel the shafts come as pair and are titanium-nitride coated for reduced friction and enhanced durability.

Pirani RC in cooperation with F.V.S.S. announce a new odourless tyre additive called Futura 2012. Suitable for both rubber and foam tyres as well as asphalt and carpet tracks, the traction compound already showed its performance during the 2nd round of the Italian 1/8 scale on-road championships. The additive is best applied three hours before the run and comes in handy airtight cans with application brush.

Bittydesign distributor Ansmann Racing release first information on the Force body shell for the Mugen MBX6. Featuring a cab forward design the body was used by 2011 European Champion Robert Battle at the recent 1/8 scale off-road European championships in Sand/Germany. The body gives the buggy more steering due to its cab design, provides better airflow around the engine, is made from 1.0mm Polycarbonate and available soon.
