All new and redesigned from the ground up, the new Speed Passion Silver Arrow II 1/8th ESC can handle the punishment and harsh conditions of any 8th scale on road or off road application. The compact low profile design, with no external capacitor, is a breeze to fit in your buggy or truggy, and the integrated hard anodized heatsink keeps the Silver Arrow II cool under the toughest racing pressure. It will runs any sensored or sensorless motor with what they claim is the smoothest feel you’ll ever experience in brushless 1/8th racing. A small footprint of L45 x W58 x H30mm, it supports up to 4 cell LiPo with 3000KV motor. Speed Passion also sell this new ESC in a combo along with their all new Cirtix 2200KV Motor that we wrote about back in January.

Spec-R TRF416 front solid axle

Spec-R TRF416 front solid axle

Spec-R have released this new lightweight front solid axle for the Tamiya 416WE/416X. The solid axle is made from aluminium while the out-drive is made from long lasting hard nylon. The full set weighs in at only 8.6 grams, which is a 19% saving in weight. Spec-R tell us that we should expect a version for the Yokomo BD5 soon.

Made from high quality aluminium the chassis is extremely stiff and through ingenious and optimized milling it gives the car incredible stability, which increases the traction and overall performance.

HPI Blitz Ball differential

Now available from HPI as an option part for the Blitz RTR, replacing the standard gear diff, this ball differential comes directly from the high performance Blitz ESE. Featuring ceramic diff balls mated to a ball race and a steel gear, it ensures smooth ball diff action without compromising the strength of the all-metal drive-train. High quality out-drives ensure long part life. The diff is easily adjusted with a 2.5mm driver so you can tune the feel to your driving style. The diff also shaves 20g of rotating weight from the gearbox.

TQ Racing SXSC10 – First CAD images

Following their teaser image back at the end of April, TQ Racing has released some more detailed CAD drawings of their soon to be released SXSC10 short course truck. We are told that the molds are complete and parts are already being manufactured, with their goal being to debut the truck at the up and coming SC Nats in CT. The truck will come in two versions, the first will be a RTR brushless kit with a 2.4Ghz radio, while the second will sport some factory hop ups and come as a pre built Race Roller with the go fast setup.

Hobbywing have released 2 new speed controllers, the first the Xtreme stock ESC, for the racer who demand’s everything from a sensored unit. Rated at 60A this ESC will suit the 8.5T motor range and above which will run the company’s turbo boost timing software. Available in black or blue anodizing and with the option of attaching the supplied cooling fan, it also features a no turbo boost timing mode. When the throttle is in the neutral position a red LED will flash meaning the turbo timing is switched off making it simple to scrutineer. The new club spec ESC is rated at 45 amp and will run a motor from 13T and above. The club spec, also known as Justock, doesn’t feature and can’t run the turbo boost timing software and is great for a single speedo spec class, helping to create some close racing without braking the bank.
