SMI launch Orcan Shop Austria

Site sponsors SMI, together with Gerhard Kandelhart have launched Orcan Shop Austria. By launching this shop, SMI Motorsport is striking a new path and going to extend the availability of the increasingly popular Orcan products with the first shop outside Germany. Gerhard ‘Kandi’ Kandelhart, has for more than 15 years been one of the most successful and experienced Austrian sportsman in RC racing, and will be the owner of the Orcan Shop Austria (www.orcan.at).

RB chrome decals

French engine company RB have introduced a new range of chrome decals. Available in 5 different versions, each sheet contains the RB logo in various sizes and colour combinations ranging between chrome, orange and black and some additionally sport the Speedline or RB Fuel logos.

TecnoPower B01-21 buggy motor

Having brought you the first photos and information on the new B01 engine from TecnoPower, the Italian company has released further details about their new buggy motor. The engine features a chrome-plated 5-port liner with 5 intakes and 1 exhaust for high durability and long life, with the fully machined silicon charged aluminium piston sports specially designed lubrication rings for low friction properties between the piston and sleeve. The new developed slide valve carburetor and 7mm venturi allows quick and easy tuning to specific race conditions and to keep things as simple as possible for the user, this specific carburetor has only 3 possible adjustments, high speed-needle, idle-needle and air-screw. The SG, or now also called SPT, style 14mm crankshaft in the B01-21 is made from a special steel containing an unique composition that has been heat-treated, machined and finished to perfection and with no need for extra counter weights it’s also lighter. The special shape of the crankshaft, and specially developed internal diameter, provides a special flux for an optimum fuel-air mixture.

Arnaud Mathieu confirmed at Motonica

Motonica have announced that Arnaud Mathieu has joined their French team to run the P81 Pro throughout the 2010 season. The partnership has already proved successful with Arnaud winning the Elite class at last weekend’s 2nd round of the French National Championships.

Novarossi update 353 Race .12/C engine

Novarossi have made a small change to their 353 Race .12/C engine, which now includes a hand-tuned lightweight crankshaft plus various laser engravings on the cooling head and crankshaft. This engine will now be sold as the 353 Race .12/C Tuned engine and will retail for around €365.

Roche BD5 Steering brace & Universal wing plates

New from Roche for the Yokomo BD5, is this carbon steering brace. Made from 2.5mm carbon graphite, the steering Brace will give the front end a little more flex than the standard alloy steering brace and this will add a little bit more steering to the car. For all touring cars there is these new carbon wing holder plates. Designed to be used on wing installations for every touring car, it will provide additional support to the wing mount to maintain the structure of the wing in the event of a crash. Both will be available in May.

Novak Ballistic 550 brushless motors

Novak’s Ballistic 550 Brushless motors claim to be the first 550-sized motors to break into short course competition and easily outperform traditional 540-sized motors. The Ballistic 550s are so powerful because of their extra long stator and rotor magnet. In fact, the stator and rotor magnet are twice the length of 540-sized motors, giving them twice the torque. Additionally, these larger-sized motors run cooler and more efficiently than their 540 counterparts. These high-powered machines are the motors of choice at small, indoor race tracks and easily install into the OFNA Hyper 10 SC, Jammin SCRT 10, Traxxas Slash 4X4 and many other 1/10-scale short course trucks.
