Matrix Tires sign Alexander Hagberg

Matrix racing tires have announced that they have agreed a two year deal with top Swedish driver Alexander Hagberg to run the 2010 and 2011 season with the company’s line of foam tires. The factory Xray driver finished in 2nd place at last year’s European 200mm Championships in Gubbio, Italy in his first year racing the category and with the Euros being held in his home country this summer he is sure to be one of the favorites for that title as well as a strong contender in Houston, Texas for the World Championships in July.

Team Associated 1/8th Brushless combos

Team Associated have released their range of 1/8th scale off road brushless converted chassis’ in a combo with high tech brushless systems from LRP. The RC8Te Truggy kit, RC8e Buggy kit and SC8e short course truck can now be bought with the SPX8 speedo and Vector 8 motor, which are the perfect fit for the different cars. The SPX8 features special 1/8th power profiles with a capacitor optimized for this larger scale, while the Vector 8 motor is available in both the 2500kv and 2800kv versions.

Losi Strike 1/8 wheel adapters

Team Losi have introduced these new 1/8 wheel adapters for the 1/10 Strike short course truck. The set, which includes new axles that allow for simple changes between the stock wheels and 1/8-scale wheels without having to change the axles, allows 1/10 Strike SCT owners to benefit from the increased performance of 1/8-scale tires and wheels. Produced with a black anodized finish on all parts offers great looks and increased durability.

Losi 8ight Championship T-shirt

Losi have released their new 8ight Championship t-shirt, which promotes the 3-time ROAR National Champion 8ight Race Roller, which won the title in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Made from a heavy-weight cotton/poly blend, it features red, black and white screen-printed designs printed on the front and rear, while the left sleeve promotes the 8ight’s title as Top Qualifier in 2006 and 2009. Available in the usual range of sizes.

Frank Root joins Team Losi

Team Losi Racing have announced the signing of Frank Root to their off-road racing team for 2010. Frank’s vast racing experience, impeccable driving talent and superior public relations will be an excellent asset to their organization. Frank’s recent successes include 2008 & 2009 JBRL 2wd and 4wd Off-Road Champion, 2009 NORCAL Championship in 2wd and Truck and Multi-time ROAR National, Cactus Classic and Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout A-main finalist. Frank had the following to say:

I am really excited for this amazing opportunity with Team Losi Racing and Horizon Hobby. I would like to thank Kevin Gahan, Adam Drake, and Mike Truhe for helping make this opportunity come to fruition. I am anxiously looking forward to the Nitro Challenge and Cactus Classic to make my debuts with the Team Losi Racing cars and run with my new Losi teammates! I want to thank everyone from Team Associated for all of the support over the past several years. I have had a great span with Team Associated, Brent Thielke, Kurt “Coach” Wenger, and all of my teammates at Team Associated. I would like to give a big thank you to Jason Ruona from J-Concepts. Frank will also compete at the nitro events with his Team Losi Racing 8ight 2.0 and 8ight-T 2.0 powered by Nitrotec Engines and Nitrotane Fuel. HPI Blitz ESE Short course truck

Last week we saw the new Blitz ESE from HPI Racing for the first time and today they have release full information on this no compromise short course truck. Outfitted with a ton of premium upgrades, high grade materials and tuned performance parts, it comes as a kit allowing you to customize your truck and top it off with your choice of electronics, high performance wheels, tires and batteries. The high performance parts are color coded white, cool gray, and warm grey. Not only does this enhance the style of the truck, it lets you know at a glance which part is the high response performance part. Featuring a stiffer composite main chassis that quickens the overall response of the truck as well as firm front arms for a more precise steering feel, while the rear arms help free up the truck in corners. Other new parts include firm shock towers, firmer skid plates and firmer bumpers.

Xceed 1/10 scale Chevy Cruser body

Seen at the toy fair last week, Xceed’s new 1/10 scale Chevy Cruser body is a high performance 1/10 scale 200mm body. Made from high quality lexan and supplied with a special shaped rear wing it is very stable, also under braking, and provides lots of steering and excellent top-speed handling. Designed in Italy for Xceed in co-operation with top level drivers, it includes grill, lights and masking decals. Expect it to hit the market in March.
