Losi 8ight-E 4WD Buggy Race Roller

Following the release of their brushless conversion Losi have released the 8ight-E 4WD Buggy Race Roller, a competition buggy chassis that has been hand assembled and is nearly ready to hit the track right out of the box. This 1/8-scale electric buggy combines the innovative design and technology of Losi’s award-winning 8ight Competition Chassis with the fierce torque and speed of an Xcelorin Brushless system. Featuring Losi’s superior 1/8-scale Xcelorin Sensorless brushless power system, the fully programmable, high-output electronic speed control can handle a 3-5-cell LiPo battery pack and offers precise throttle and braking control. The 2100Kv brushless motor requires virtually no maintenance, while offering unmatched efficiency and speed designed for 1/8-scale racing. Additionally, the ESC offers tons of programming options, including adjustable throttle limits, selectable user profiles, and much more using the Quick Programming Card or personal pc programming software.

Reckward Tuning Tourex tires update

A few weeks ago we told you about the new line up of Tourex 1/8th scale buggy tires from Reckward Tuning. Our friends at RT were in contact once again to give us further details regarding the different compounds as well as confirming that the tires, along with the foam inserts, will be available in the middle of next month, while the pre glued versions will come on both white & yellow wheels in the middle of October. Available in 4 different patterns, the soft compound is suitable for cold or wet conditions, so perfect for slippery tracks, the medium compound is great for general use, while the hard compound works better with higher outside temperatures and gives better handling over longer runs.

ATS Tyres Trophy 2008

We received a brief report from last weekend’s ATS Tyres Trophy, which was held on the Lamberto Collari Circuit in Cassino. A great success, the event was attended by more than 100 drivers during the two days of the race including the new 1/8th scale European Champion Jernej Vuga as well as newly crowned 1/10th World Champion Daniele Ielasi. In 1/10th scale it was ATS top man Piero Torregiani that took the win from Giorgio De Felici in 2nd, with Alessio Forte taking 3rd, while in 1/8th scale Andrea Cristiani won from Jernej Vuga and Borrelli Ciro in 2nd and 3rd.

Associated RC8/T BB Shocks & Clutch shoes

Team Associated have announced the release of some new parts for the RC8 and RC8T. Starting with these big bore shocks, they are available for both the front and rear of the car and come with hard anodized, threaded 16mm aluminum shock bodies. Extra-large shock bladders allow full volume compensation, while together with the heavy-duty 4mm stainless steel shafts the shocks provide increased stability in rough sections as well as providing softer landings on big jumps. Also new are some handy tools which will make your 16mm Big Bore shock adjustments a snap. Finally for both cars are these new clutch shoes made from durable and hard 2024 alloy that claim to extend the life of your clutch. The harder material will last longer between rebuilds and maintenance, which equates to more time on the track.

Much More Mini Motor Master Mount

Much More have released details about this new mini motor mount for use with their Motor Master device. A simple tool, it comes in 3 different anodized colours – black, purple and blue, and is supplied with a suitable shaft for measuring the motors RPM within the Motor Master. Expected it to be released in mid September.

Dennis Fadtke joins TOP Racing

Racing Art Company were in touch to tell us that leading German driver Dennis Fadtke has joined their team and will now drive all the company’s products. Fadtke, who was the runner up in the Stock class at the 2007 DHI Cup as well as a multiple National race winner, will now pilot the TOP Racing Scythe ARP chassis. In addition Dennis will power his car using Alien Power EP4600 Team Spec batteries and Alien Power Warp brushless motors.

Werks Racing new Molded Insert

Werks Racing have announced the release of their new and improved 1/8th scale buggy tire inserts. Keeping the same wide, slightly rounded, profile that works exceptionally well with most of today’s more popular tire designs these new inserts use a new, lighter weight, higher quality material that makes for an even more consistent insert, virtually eliminating any difference in hardness between one to the next. As an added bonus the new material is less prone to disintegrating resulting in a longer wearing insert all at the same price as the old one.
