Dirk Wischnewki wins Rd6 Central German Regionals

Wischnewki wins Rd6 Central German regionals

Xray are reporting on their site from the 6th and final central German Regional race held in Ettlingen which attracted a number of top drivers including Martin Hudy, who came from Slovakia for the race. Qualifiying saw Xray NT1 driver Dirk Wischnewki take the TQ, after setting a fast time on a slowing track, to place ahead of 2nd qualifer Stefan Hannauer, racing a Kyosho, who had set his fastest time in the first round when the track was quicker. The 3rd spot went to Martin Hudy, driving the NT1, who despite being quick on Saturdays practice couldnt get the same power from his engine on the Sunday, and combined with some bad luck in his heats, could only place 3rd. Before the finals the rain started and the drivers elected to not race and so the qualifying results were the final results which gave Wischnewki the win from Hannauer in 2nd and Hudy in 3rd.

OFNA have announced the addition of this new 1:12 scale mini addition to their line-up of high downforce 1/8 wings. Atomic Carbon RB5 Shock Towers – Review

Atomic Carbon RB5 Shock Towers

Our mate oOple has a nice little write up on the Atomic Carbon Kyosho Ultima RB5 shock towers that their team helped co develop, and that we briefly wrote about a while ago. And his conclusion –

Despite running on some of the most demanding tracks in the UK Stu didn’t manage to do more than scratch one of the production Atomic towers so far (touch wood). The 4MM Carbon looks trick and gives the car a new look – but more importantly the additional settings are very useful, especially on the rear – not cheap, but worth it!

Read the full write up here.

Joseph Quagraine joins O.S. Engines

Joseph Quagraine joins O.S. Engines

Our partners Neo Buggy are reporting that 3 times Nordic champion and Worlds Semi-finalist Joseph Quagraine has left Italian engine sponsor Novarossi and joined forces with the Japanese manufacturer O.S. Engines. Joseph makes the switch after 2 and a half years with the Italian outfit having joined them from Picco in late 2004. His most recent, and final, victory for Novarossi came 2 weeks ago when he took the truggy class win at the Offroad Meeting in Monsummano, driving the HoBao RTR truggy.

I would like to thank Novarossi for their excellent support during the last few years. I wish everyone at Novarossi all the best for the future, however I look forward to a long and successful future driving for O.S. Japan, and would also like to thank them for this oppurtunity.

Quagraine joins a long list of star racers that are currently using the O.S. buggy motor such as Pavidis, Maifield, Hughes, Tebo, Smolnik, Bradley, James and Saxton, all of which were in action at last weekends ROAR Buggy Nationals.

Motor Mania Pride 23T motor

Motor Mania Pride 23T motor

There seems to be no end to the 23 turn motors coming out of Japan at the moment, with the release of this motor from Motor Mania, called the Pride. Extensively tested before release, and conforming to JMRCA rules, the people from Motor Mania believe they have obtained the optimum specification of durability within a high torque motor, thanks in part to its cooling fans on the rotor and titanium coloured casing which both aid the heat dissipation.
