OPS Super Track 14mm

OPS Super Track 14mm

OPS are back, at least i think they went away, and have now introduced this OPS Super Track 14mm. This motor is a 3.5cc engine for, as the name suggests, circuit racing and the 14mm is seemingly important as it allows an improvement in the flow of the fuel mixture. What is also unique about this motor is that to save weight and in turn aid the acceleration of the crankshaft they have milled many small holes in the outer diameter of the small end side of the crankshaft. Doing this instead of milling the center of the crankshaft and adding silicone as is currently the norm, does a better job at reducing the centerfugal weight and therefore effects the performance more significantly.

You can view lots more pictures of the inside of the engine here.

Atomic release their new 380 motors

Atomic release their new 380 motors

With the popularity of 1/18th scale growing, the need for more power of course becomes more important. Atomic are addressing this issue by releasing 2 new performance 380 motors, the ST-18 which is a 26T motor and will do 35,000 rpm and the ATOM-18 that is a 22T motor and will hit 40,000 rpm. Pretty decent figures for such a small motor in a small car.

Xray T2’007 conversions sets

Xray T2'007 conversions sets

Xray have officially released 2 new conversion sets to enable T2 and T2R users to upgrade their chassis’ to the US or EU T2’007 specifications. The conversion sets are pretty large and seem to replace nearly 80% of the car, so it seems strange to release such a set. Our advice would be to just buy a new car.

GRP release innovative exhaust system

GRP FLS Exhaust Pipe

GRP have announced the release of their new innovative 3 chamber exhaust system for 3.5cc off road engines. The innovation isn’t the new titanium colored finish but instead with the fact that the need for springs in mounting the exhaust to the manifold is eliminated with a new patented locking system called FLS.

The main novelty is the FLS (Fast Link System), studied and patented by GRP worldwide. This new system eliminates the need for springs, gaskets between the manifold and the pipe. You simply insert them and twist and it locks into place. Not only the FLS is new but also the pipe is made from a harder material, titanium finishing and a true 3 chamber model, guranteeing high performance and low noise.
