Ferrari vs. Xray NT1 – Conclusion

A while ago we were informed by Xray that there would be a race between a full size Ferrari and an Xray NT1 and the results would be shown on Austrian TV. Now thanks to YouTube here is the video. I said over 100m it would be no contest, the NT1 had it, and i think every other opinion was the same, and that was in fact the outcome. The same race run to 150m saw the Ferrari just get it, mainly due to a bad start for the NT1.

Kawada, the Japanese car maker, have announced the release of a 20th Anniversary edition of their M300RSX 1/12th scale chassis. This special edition first off features lots of gold anodising, which looks pretty cool alongside the carbon fiber, and in addition to that it has a new smoother action shock absorber, new T-plate, aluminum front strut, long wheel base chassis and the whole car comes pre assembled. Available late May.

Our great partners 3Hobby have some exclusive pictures of the new Limited Edition Team Magic 2007 G4+. The new car in the picture is a prototype and belongs to Spanish GP winner Darren Johnson and if you go to 3Hobby you can see that the car looks completely new, with aerodynamic wishbones all around, new shock absorbers and shock mounts, front carbon stiffener, new rear anti-roll bar, new rear uprights and new low CG chassis plate. The car has been tested and appears to be very smooth with more steering and is now very responsive.

First Pictures – Kyosho CRF motors

As we have exclusive told you already, it seems the deal is done between Kyosho and Swiss company CRF to supply the Japanses firm with engines in place of Sirio. Pictures of the first Kyosho branded CRF came out online today and here they are, sporting a gold head with Kyosho by Team Orion engraved into it, the side of the crankcase also sports the Kyosho K logo.

Thomas Mikkelsen wins Rd1 Danish Nats

Xray are reporting on their site on the first round of the Danish off road nationals that took place last weekend at the NMRC track, 50 km south of Copenhagen. Qualifying saw Xray driver Peter Harder take the top qualifying spot ahead of team mate Claus Nielsen with Jan Drake Hansen in 3rd but in the race it was more difficult for Harder with his engine stopping on him, dropping him back to 3rd at the end of the race. The final was won by Thomas Mikkelsen followed home by Rune Gustavsen with TQ man Harder in 3rd.

Travis Amezcua joins Hot Bodies

Neo Buggy have the scoop on top US off road racer Travis Amezcua, who has left his current employers Team Losi, leaving behind him a strong record there. Travis has been on and off the gas off road scene, but his domination of qualifying at last year’s ROAR buggy nats, and performances since, prompted Novarossi to sign him to the US team, made up of Amezcua, Mike Truhe and Phillip Atondo – all Losi drivers. His new role at HPI/Hot Bodies will see him focus on the development of the companies 1/8th and 1/10th scale off road cars, and also assumes the role of US off road team manager.
