SMC technology in 1:1 Electric Motorbike Record attempt

It is nice to see RC technology making its way into full size motor sport with IFMAR World Champion battery manufacturer SMC Racing helping the record breaking electric motorbike outfit Team Speed Hertz as they get ready for the Texas Mile event this weekend.  With teams having just 1-Mile to achieve their top speed and a shut down distance of 1/2-Mile, Speed Hertz are aiming to try and take the SMC technology and logo on the side of the bike to over 190mph and break the current 188mph record.  Marc Rheinard used SMC batteries to take his Tamiya to two of his 1:10 Touring Car World titles (2010 & 2012).

Racetec low profile cooling heads

Klinik RC has through their Racetec brand released new lightweight billet machined low profile cooling heads for O.S. and other similar engines. Cast stock heads are very heavy (70-90g) and not very efficient dissipating heat from your engine. Machined aluminium has 2x the thermal conductivity vs cast and the head weighs in at 30-40% less (53g) than the cast counterpart, significantly lowering COG. Machined from billet stock aluminium they are anodised in black, pink, red or blue and finished with lasering on the Racetec logos.

Revolution Design Ultra X-Ring for 3mm 1:10 Shock

New from Revolution Design Racing Products are these Ultra X-Rings for 3mm 1:10 Shocks. Regular maintenance is crucial for ensuring the effective functioning of every RC car. Many parts hidden inside the most important assemblies are often neglected, including shock seals. RDRP’s Ultra X-Rings carry over the proven rubber compound of the well-known white O-rings. Thanks to their X-shaped profile, friction is reduced while retaining great sealing characteristics to any debris outside the shock, no matter whether you run on dirt or carpet. The packs of eight Ultra X-Rings are convenient for racers and hobby shops alike as they fit a wide variety of cars and trucks with 3 mm shock shafts, including but not limited to Team Associated, Schumacher and many of the latest TLR and Yokomo kits.

Bittydesign VPR 1:10 Street Drag racing body

Bittydesign has released the ‘VPR’ 1:10 Street Drag racing body shell.  The Italian company say the project was born from the desire to create an extraordinary product developed specifically for drag races, “No Prep Street” category.  Made with 1mm thick high quality polycarbonate Lexan, the body shell was designed on Team Associated’s DR10 chassis but can also be mounted on Losi 22S chassis No Prep Drag, Traxxas Slash 2wd Drag Car & Traxxas Drag Slash 1:10.  Making reference to one of the most iconic American supercar ever made, during the design Bittydesign produced a few parts that complete the racing look of the VPR and aid in performance.  The included rear ‘drag racing’ spoiler extension improves and “cleans” the air turbulence generated in the rear. They also offer an optional large GT rear wing to reproduce the exact style of the 1:1 scale GT car.
