Kobbevik finally becomes European Champion

Schumacher’s Daniel Kobbevik has finally turned years of raw speed into his first major international championship title, the Norwegian today becoming the 2026 EFRA 1:10 4WD Offroad European Champion at the ERT-Steyregg astro track in Austria. In qualifying, it was the Sworkz of Micha Widmaier who opened with a TQ run but rising to the top in Q2 & 3 it was Kobbevik who would be the Top Qualifier. Fastest in Q4, 2023 Champion Orlowski made it a 1-2 on the grid for the CAT PB followed by the Xray of Bartosz Zalewski who wrapped up qualifying with the fastest time in Q5. As the defending Champion, David Ronnefalk’s Xray would start P4 ahead of Widmaier with newly crowned 2WD Champion Marcus Kaerup finding himself P6 on the grid. In A1, the two Schumachers pulled clear and with 1-minute to go Orlowski got down the inside to go the front. A lap later however Kobbevik was back in front as he jumped over his team-mate but it still wasn’t decided. On the final lap the duo touched a number of times but with Kobbevik just running wide on the final run to the line it was enough for Orlowski to get through for an exciting win. In A2 Kobbevik was able to stay out front from start to finish, Orlowski shadowing him until a mistake in the final minute. With the decider going to A3, an early error from Orlowski lifted the pressure on Kobbevik. While a mistake on lap 3 allowed Zalewski to go to the front, it was short lived as the Pole landed on the track piping allowing Kobbevik back to the front to take his first title in style. Overall Orlowski would claim the runner-up spot with Ronnefalk completing the podium ahead of Zalewski, Widmaier, and Kaerup.

Xray X4F’27 2.0mm Carbon Upper Deck

Offering another tuning option for its X4F’27 1:10 Front Wheel Drive Touring Car, Xray has released this 2.0mm Carbon Upper Deck. The one-piece carbon Multi-Flex top deck has a narrow shape for easier installation, improved handling characteristics and features multiple flex options. It offers increased flex, which makes the car softer with the Slovakian manufacturer suggesting it for low traction conditions where it removes a bit of initial steering but generates more mechanical traction. CNC-machined from premium USA made high-grade carbon fibre material, the top deck can be modified by making additional cuts, to provide more additional flex set-up options.

Serpent SRX8GTR EC 1:8 Nitro GT Kit

Having finally won the EFRA 1:8 Nitro GT European Championship with star driver Andrea Catanzani in Portugal at the end of May, Serpent is now offering a replica of the winning car with the introduction of the SRX8GTR EC. Having released their latest competition GT car, the SRX8GT R kit, last August, the upgrades on the EC edition include a more flexible 3mm flat chassis to enhance mechanical grip on the track. It also gets carbon suspension arms for increased rigidity and sharper handling. Aluminium lightweight bulkheads are now also added for improved structural strength and alignment.

KO Propo 1:28 KR-243XT Receiver

Japanese radio manufacturer KO Propo has released this new receiver designed for 1:28 cars which is compatible with its EX-NEXT transmitters. Measuring12.5×18.5×7.3mm and weighing 1.2 grams, the KR-243XT 2.4GHz is an ultra-compact receiver perfectly suited for small 1:28 chassis and by pairing it with the EX-NEXT you can control your machine with the ultimate XT-compliant feeling that KO Propo delivers. Featuring 4 ports in total, it utilises ZH connectors, which are widely used in 1:28 equipment. You can connect commercially available 1:28 scale RC car servos and ESCs to each port. Additionally, you can connect a transponder to CH3 or CH4 for power supply. KR-243XT 2.4GHz will also be offered as part of a complete radio set with either the EX-NEXT BASIC or the EX-NEXT LDT BASIC transmitter.

Xray X4F’27 1.5mm Alu Flex Chassis

New for its recently released X4F’27 1:10 Front Wheel Drive Touring Car, Xray has introduced this optional 1.5mm aluminium chassis developed for high traction conditions. The unique flex characteristics improve steering response, cornering speed, and overall handling, making the chassis particularly effective on high-traction carpet and asphalt tracks. The narrow chassis design features specially tapered bottom edges that reduce chassis contact with the track surface during cornering, helping maintain corner speed and improving overall performance. Manufactured from premium Swiss 7075 T6 aluminium and precision CNC-machined for maximum consistency, strength, and durability, special Hudy Spring Steel countersunk M3x5 screws must be used together with shims #303118-C and 4 pcs of shims #301119-C for proper installation.

Reflex Racing RX28 World’s Edition Conversion Kit

Reflex Racing has released this World’s Edition Conversion Kit for its 1:28 RX28 competition car, the much awaited conversion kit working with both D or SE Gen 3 car kits. Features of the new WE Chassis are a narrower design and lower CG so as to provide faster corner speeds, direction changes and less chassis dragging/rubbing. The Chassis Rear Roll Center is more adjustable, with the reverse mounted side links, you can now lower the Roll Center Lower for less traction rolling. The Center Shock can be mounted further forward to allow for smoother, more forgiving cornering under most conditions. The lighter weight chassis with deeper pocketing for servo and battery lowers the CG while cutting weight so as to get as close to 160 grams in Plastic Body classes. Optional Tungsten plate for under the servo as well as under battery plate are available to bring the CG down and weight up for Lexan Classes. The kit also includes 2 pc tweak brace for easier side spring changes and a 1 pc braced motor mount for more durability.

RC Maker SP2 Electric Touring Car

Two years on from top Australian international touring car racer Ryan Maker realising a life long dream to create his own electric touring car with the release of the SP1, RC Maker has just unveiled their new SP2 platform. The Melbourne manufacturer say the SP2 is ‘Built on a relentless pursuit of designing a unique, innovative and highly competitive touring car platform for professional to novice racers, and everyone in between!’ In development for the past 18 months, while they learnt from the SP1, despite the predecessor claiming numerous wins on different tracks all around the world, Maker identified several areas for improvement, as well as realising what made that car great. This built the foundations for the SP2… keeping it’s DNA the same, but re-engineering the design from the ground up. RC Maker will offer the SP2 in 3 chassis options, 2.2mm carbon, 1.5mm aluminium and 1.2mm spring steel.

Serpent SRX8 | SRX8GT Double Cardan Joint Driveshafts

Serpent has released new Double Cardan Joint front driveshafts for its SRX8 and SRX8GT platforms that are specifically enginnered for high steering-angle applications. Traditional universal-joint drive shafts begin to bind as steering angle increases, creating additional friction, inconsistent wheel speed, and unnecessary drivetrain load. 98mm for the buggy and 94mm for GT, the Double Cardan Joint design virtually eliminates these effects, maintaining a much smoother transfer of power even beyond 30 degrees of steering angle. Designed for modern high-angle GT steering geometry, the benefits of the new shafts is lower stress on drive cups, joints, and bearings, and a more predictable steering feel under acceleration.
