Following the news earlier this week that long time driver Nicolas Lee is no longer with their team, Team Yokomo has announced Antoni Caretti as the new Team Manager for Asia and Australia.  A long time Yokomo driver in touring car and buggy, Australian Caretti will oversee the Asian/Australian market and be available for technical support at races and online.  On the announcement he said, ‘I am super exited to step up into a team manager position for Team Yokomo!  I want to thank Taguchi, Naoya and Christopher for making this happen and I’m already looking forward to 2025 and beyond.  When I started racing in 2007 my first race car was a Yokomo BD, so becoming a team driver and now team manager for such a prestigious brand is truly an amazing feeling!’

World Champions tour Foshan ahead of FEMCA C/ships

It’s not just all racing duties when you are a World Champion!  When you have 2 multiple World Champions in town you want to make the most of the opportunity to help promote RC Racing.  Well, that is exactly what happened today with Bruno Coelho and Naoto Matsukura ahead of this weekend’s FEMCA ISTC Championships in Foshan, China.  With his GDC Indoor Race Club track hosting this year’s FEMCA race that will crown the Touring Car Champion of Asia, Gavin Kwok took a number of the visiting drivers to the City’s Nanfeng Ancient Kiln which was built during the Ming Dynasty.  The oldest existing active ceramic wood-burning dragon kiln in the world it has a history of more than 500 years.  Accompanied by a photographer & videographer to capture the visit, there was an interesting and novelty electric bus ride from the track to the city’s major tourist site.  With Matsukura sitting up front in the bus beside the driver it was a very entertaining ride and one which highlight that the Japanese racer could have a career as a tourist guide once he decides to hang up his radio!!  With a day of free practice ahead of drivers tomorrow (Friday), the FEMCA Championship gets underway in earnest on Saturday morning with seeding followed by qualifying before finals on Sunday decide the new FEMCA Champion.  You can follow all the action from GDC here on Red RC over the next 3-days.

Infinity IF18 Sway Bar Stoppers

Infinity has released new Sway Bar Stoppers for the front stabiliser on its World Championship winning IF18-3 1:8 Onroad Car.  By making the contact surface with the bearing spherical, smoother movement of the sway bar is achieved.  Durability has also been greatly improved by using steel.  The Stabiliser Stoppers available in 2.3, 2.5, and 2.7mm.   Also new from the Japanese manufacturer is a new Steering Knuckle Plate for their IF15-2 and IF15-2W.  This allows for a greater steering angle of the outer tire in corners than the standard kit version.  This will make tighter cornering possible, and can improve high speed steering on larger tracks.

MR33 Tire Warmer PLUS+ 4S Battery Mount Set

MR33, working together with Boom RC, has released this 3D printed bracket & cover for the SkyRC tire heating station meaning you can carry your 1:10 Touring or FWD car to the track with fully powered tire warmers on.  Having noticed that the new Matrix D36 in particular needs a lot of heat to function optimally, the decisive factor is how much heat is still present in the tire at the start of the race.  The Tire Warmer +Plus is compatible with the SkyRC Tire Warmer and is attached with 4 existing screws.  Operation is designed for a Gens Ace Redline 2.0 6000mAh 15.2V 140C 4S battery.  You can park your vehicle on the foam-padded surface like on a car stand.  To connect the heating station and 4S battery you need a normal 13AWG silicone cable which you have to solder to a 5mm Glod connector (battery side) and to an XT60 connector (device side).

RSRC MP10T/MP10Te Carbon Fibre parts

RSRC, the brand of multiple European 1:8 Buggy Champion and factory Kyosho driver Reno Savoya, has extended their carbon fibre parts range with suspension arm insets for the Kyosho MP10T/MP10Te 1:8 Truggy.  They have designed a ‘sandwich panel’ system that leaves the internal reinforcements of the suspension untouched, with a 1mm plate on top and a 1mm plate underneath.  This will greatly improve the wishbone strength during big hits with very few front lower arm breaks due to the stiffeners.  It also improve handling making the truggy more precision.  The ‘sandwich panel’ fits the MP10T nitro and electric truggies.
