Miller & Morey crowned PN North American Champions

Ethan Miller & Lee Morey are the 2024 PN North American Champions. This year’s 1:28 scale championships took place at IronCity RC Hobbies in Pittsburgh over the weekend attracting 126 entries. In qualifying it was the Reflex Racing RX28 of John Dickson who took the 2WD Mod TQ after setting the fastest time in the third of the three qualifiers. In 4WD Mod, New Jersey’s Morey took the new RC Atomic BZ5 to the top spot. With 2WD Mod the biggest of the class, in the triple finals it would be Miller, also driving Reflex Racing, who would come through from P3 on the grid to take the title after winning A2 & 3. Winner of A1, Dickson would have to settle for second with Alex Soto-Pagan completing the podium. In the 4WD Mod finals, Morey would win A1 & A3 to lift the title ahead of team-mate Tommy Lane adding to the BZ5’s debut title win at the recent PN Asia Championship held in Indonesia. 130 drivers from 18 countries will now set their attention on the PN World Championship that take place in Vélizy Villacoublay, France, from October 31st to November 3rd.

2023 PN World Cup – Report

The 17th running of the PN World Cup was held recently at RCHQ in San Antonio, Texas, USA, with the event selling out in a very rapid 19-minutes. Hosting 114 drivers from 11 countries, they would compete for the honours in Stock, F1, Super Stock, AWD Mod, GT 2WD Mod, and Pan Car 2WD Mod classes. In the modified classes, Michael Maldonado from Pueblo, Colorado, took the victories in Pan Car and GT, and Mathieu De Rocha from France successfully defended his world title from Bangkok 2022 in AWD. Maldonado would also go on to win the Super Stock title, and Ethan Martinez from San Antonio completed the double wins in Stock and F1.

New from Mini-Z racing specialists PN Racing is the new V3 version of its Anima High Torque Titanium Gear Digital Micro Servo. Designed for most 1:28 scale racing chassis, it offers wide operation voltage range from 4,8V to 8.4V allowing racers to fine tune and find the desired driving feel. Durability and simplicity were the main intention during the designing process of PNR3.0 chassis series, and there’s no exception for this Formula 1 chassis. The California company wanted to make sure the chassis still fits within Mini-Z’s ecosystem yet help racers achieve the best performance. PN Racing have released their new V3 tire truer allowing you to true a pair of tires at the same time. While saving time and headache, truing 2 tires at a time also ensures perfect balance between left and right side tires. Also by doing this the 2 tires are being trued at the exact same temperature so the tire surface are perfectly matching and symmetrical. Designed to work with mini-z RWD AWD wheels and there is an optional slot car wheel adapters available.
